R3
Sorcery
Destroy all Non-Basic lands.

I would think that this card has become better. Where Blood Moon is only R2 - Enchantment, it can be destroyed as well as countered. Not to mention, that the land can still be used, and generally, the person is using the generic mana anyways. Red would be little of a problem. But with Ruination, you just blow it up. (Maybe I just like blowing things up)

But anyways, what's your opinion on this card? Still horribly bad?

Blood Moon deals with all non-basics currently in play, and any future ones they might play.

If you blow up their lands, they can just play more.

Ruination is really terrible compared to Blood Moon.

Ruination doesn't answer non-basic lands that aren't in play at the time. How much better is Blood Moon than Ruination when the card on top of your opponent's deck is Tolarian Academy?

Ruination is only a minor roadblock to decks running Crucible (which is most of them these days). It doesn't mess up their ability to use fetchlands every turn, it doesn't mess up their ability to recur Strip Mine on you. Blood Moon does both.

Blood Moon can make a great 1st turn play. Ruination can't.

Um, yeah.  This one gets locked for reasons mentioned above.
