Will there be intentional draws? What "house rules" will be in force this time?

I will speak to john about this issue. I know it was a big issue last time so perhaps with the amount of people that would like intentional draws this time around he might allow it.

As long as there's advance notice, people will usually be fine with whatever system there is. Not telling people about house rules misrepresents the tournament, though, which would be bad. That's the only reason I asked.

I still havent addressed the issue with john yet for the simple fact that last time i posted a tournament for him he got pissed cause i screwed up on the info and then went back and fixed it so im like thats gay. But i will bring it up casually within the next few days.  Hopefully if we're lucky he'll allow IDs for us if we get enough people to bitch at him.

John said the house rules stand and then proceeded to go into this five minute reading of rules of the DCI. Which is not what i asked for but yea, no intentional draws will be allowed at this tournament. I appologize...

Yeah, see, Intentional Draws are part of the DCI Floor Rules themselves as being legal. Making them illegal is like playing with no restricted list. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm sure he'll come around soon enough, though.

Not permitting intentional draws is like having double elimination in swiss.  Terrible.

Soo.... prove him why ID's are in fact allowed in a normal tournament.

Just don't go, it's as easy as that.

If I remember correctly, this is the place where the TO ran the tournament on paper, and completely fucked up the tiebreakers when cutting to top 8

This is NE- there are other tournaments

A few points:

1. He switched to DCI reporter a looooong time ago.

2. I'm sure some people might not show up because of the no-ID policy, but I've played there several times and it was never really a problem for me. Some people will still show up.

3. Keeping the local players coming back is an excellent reason for whatever rules he wants. It's not sanctioned, so I think he should run his tournaments the way he wants to, as long as he lets people know beforehand. That way, only the people who are fine with those rules will show up, and everyone can have a good time.

Nagou! Nagou! I, with a help of few freinds, finally got John to cave on the issue. Now, with the tournament only a week away, there will be intentional draws allowed in this tournament. What he was confused about was the rule was manipulating a round to help out yourself and mise other people. But, my faithful friend Ken explained to him he thinks that rule refers to random decision of the match. So, alas there will be intentional draws at this tournament.

Most of my usual cohorts are busy this weekend, but if I can find the time I'll be making the trip.

So ID's will be allowed now?  Or am I mistaken?

Apparently, I'll be there.

Tournament is less than twelve hours away.  Be there, or, uh, don't.

Ninja Mask is taking this thing home.

EDIT 2:  Change of plans.  I'm still going to be there.

Double posting, but results are in.

First place is Corey Frasier (sorry if I spelled it wrong) with Control Slaver.

Second place is Ed Demmico with U/w Phid, running a single maindeck...  PREACHER!  The most boarded-out card in all the tournament, but sweet in its own sort of way.

I made t8 with TPS, and then lost the mirror to first turn necropotence twice.

My memory is a little faulty, but I know the top eight included at least two control slavers, three TPS, and U/w phid.  The 8th decklist is a mystery to me, but I think it was another control slaver.

WOOT! Go Team Us. Its nice to see a local win the tourney for once. I wasn't able to stay until the match finished but when i left it was mid 2nd game and corey was drawing dead. So I'm guessing they went to third. I'm going to hope corey wrote a report so I can see how he did all day.

Corey (the winner) sent me the t8, which I was a little off with.

There were 3 TPS, 2 control slaver, 1 u/w phid, 1 u/g survival, and 1 keeper (I'm not even being snide and calling it keeper even though everyone else wants to call it 4cc, this was apparently legitimately keeper)
