Angelic Aegis
{1}{W}
Enchant Creature

As Angelic Aegis comes into play, choose a color. Enchanted creature gets +1/+2 and has protection from the chosen color. This effect doesn't remove Angelic Aegis.

I'm just proposing a variant on a theme to fulfil the white, common spell request. White traditionally gets wards and holy strength effects, but the nearest WotC has ever come to printing this card was [card]Strength of Isolation[/card]. This card would be pretty good as a common, but I've seen the power level of this set to be rather high, so I suspect that this won't be a problem.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

That's strong, but by no means too strong.

Hrrm...Pretend that this is relevant commentary on the development of this card and not just a post made to bump it back to the top of the forum.

I like this. It's amazing that it hasn't been printed before.
Maybe it should cost WW? It does seem rather strong...
(Compare Cho-Manno's Blessing.)

Oh, and you need a line break after "choose a color".

It's a very white effect, but creature enchantments are traditionally underpowered. Also, it's already hard enough to splash colours into white-based creature decks, because so many of the creatures cost {W}{W}. If it gets splashed into other colours, so be it. I don't think it's really all that much better than Brillian Halo, which doesn't really see any play anywhere.
