Not really a draft choice today, but a discussion topic.  Is the Black Myojin too good to be included?  I ask this as it was dominant in a series of games I played tonight with SliverKing and Ian v2.0.

I'm still pretty positive that if the stack is of a mid to high power level and there are an optimal amount of players (like 5-6) then it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm against that card in T4, unless you're playing a BrassMan type stack (which runs cards like Avarax and Staff of Domination).

I think its a completely other issue:  Where is the fun in t4?  I used to have Mind Warp, Mind Twist, Cabal Conditioning and Amnesia in my deck.  I cut them all becuase they seemed to just take a person out of the game prematurely.  They aren't very fun.

However, I think the time is such that they should possibly go back in.  We don't play with hand limits anymore in Columbus and that makes these cards more likley to be good mid game cards as well.

I've been playing with Cabal Conditioning, and so far it's seemed like just another bomb in a big stack full of bombs.  I'm going to give it a chance.

I can see how it's a problem card with only 3 players, but like Kowal said, with 5-6, it should be okay, since somebody will usually have a counterspell to stop everybody from getting mind twisted Surprised

A counterspell, or a stifle.  Failing that, there are 5-6 people topdecking and planning on kill you and your dude.  That's the equivalent of a full grip or better.

as a long time player of brassman type 4 (it is in fact the only type 4 i know) i am of the opinion that no card (excluding things like fireball) is too powerful for type 4. this guy is really really good, but i really dont see him being too good. there are a good number of ways to replenish your hand size, not to mention, if he is really that scary, just counter him. reanimate effects dont give him his counter back, so once he hits the yard, he is pretty much useless.

There are plenty of things that the myojin does nothing about though, like the lethal spell coming at your dome right now. Also, the fact that T4 is a multiplayer format counterbalances most things by itself; activating this guy pretty much makes you the target of anything bad and instant speed. It also can't be abused with "into play from graveyard effects". The guy is a bomb no question, but he certainly isn't any better than memnarch.

As for the fun issue, Cron and I had a shit load of fun playing DC10 after I cascaded both our hands to our respective libraries.
