Goblins Inquisition
1R
Sorcery
Search your library for a card at random.
Put that card into your hand.
What happened?!

I think this card would be a lot of fun to play. It doesnt seem undercosted at 2 mana due to its randomness.

Perhaps it should be costed at RR to prevent splashing.
Also - I can't think of any flavour text.

Tell me what you guys think!

I think everybody thinks of something like this. I know I did. I was halfway through posting it when I realized that if your deck has already been shuffled, this essentially reads "Draw a card." If your deck has not already been shuffled and you know what your top card is, this could possibly be even worse than a card that simply read "Draw a card."

Given this is functionally equivalent to 'Shuffle your deck. Draw a card', how about doing something like this to keep the original flavour but have this card do something interesting:

Goblin Inquisition
3R
Sorcery
Shuffle your library then remove the top card of your library from the game.
If it's a land, put a new copy of Goblin Inquisition on the stack.
Otherwise, put the removed card on the stack.
'No, no, not that one... it's gotta be in here somewhere...'

No idea on a good costing, but I think the wording will do what I want it to.

EDIT: Erk. This is Mind's Desire without storm but which can't fizzle on a land.

Or:

Red Search Thing
RR
Sorcery
Search your library for a red card and remove it from the game, then flip a coin.  If you win the flip, put the removed card in your hand.  If you lose the flip, put a copy of CARDNAME on the stack.

Stolen, that's crazy good. Okay, it's limited to just red cards, but you can still go search for something enormous, like Obliterate or Searing Wind and you have a 50/50 chance of it getting automatically cast with a payment of just {R}{R}. Even if you don't get the free spell, you get it in your hand.

Wow Ephraim, you're right! This card does nothing except draw a card...

I'd like to request that this thread be locked now as this card is useless and doesn't seem to have any further inspiration.

Thanks,

Grim
