City of Ruins
Land

T: 1, Remove target artifact from the game.

It takes centuries to evolve, and only decades to decay.

Variations:
1.)  T: 1, Destroy target artifact
2.)  T: 1, Remove target artifact from the game.  If City of Ruins leaves play, return all removed artifacts back into play.
3.)  T: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool.
T: Sacrifice City of Ruins.  Remove two target artifacts from play.

The reasoning behind this card is a T1 "balancer." (ie gorilla shaman, null rod, etc)  It can help negate a broken opening from an opponent.  It is an uncounterable means of artifact removal.  I also understand it gives black a means to remove artifacts- a color wheel no-no.  Kills moxes, Trinis, Juggernauts.  Helps disrupt sick T1 openings.  I prefer it not to offer mana, as i think it is better as a narrow card.

Flavor behind the card.  Trying to give the illusion of a decayed "City of Brass."  Meaning out with the old (Beta, AN, AN)........

Disclaimer.  I am not a rogue player and i own power Smile

This is waaay too strong, and lands have to produce mana nowadays.

I think you are thinking of the current meta a little to much with this card.  In metas of the past 5 years, this card would be unplayable in many matchups.

Wasn't aware of the new Wotc policy that lands had to produce mana.  Sorry.

1. We have to acknowledge that the current meta exists.

2. This card is too powerful from a completely objective standpoint. Sure, three colours have spells that can pretty effectively nerf artifacts. Some of them are even pretty cheap. Your propossal would not just give blue and black good artifact destruction, but it would probably replace every other artifact destruction method everywhere. Such cheap, reusable artifact destruction is much better than Oxidize, which is probably the absolute best strict artifact destroyer ever.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.
