So this is my first post on the forums.. horray!

I have no power-9 cards and I'm trying to make a competitive T1 deck.
I've chosen red, and I'm trying to make it as quick as possible for the kill.
Right now I believe that Fork is unrestricted, and I'm trying to abuse it.
Currently I'm trying to add two cards from the new set to the "go for
the juggular" strategy: Lava Spike and Shrapnel Blast

The Scrolls are to play as my hand dwindles (if I can't get a win) and to
feed the Shrapnel Blast (as are the Furnaces).

(11) Creatures & Artifacts
3x Cursed Scroll
4x Jackal Pup
4x Goblin Cadets

(12) 1CC Burn
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Chain Lightning
4x Lava Spike

(17) 2CC+ Burn
3x Pyrostatic Pillar
3x Fire/Ice
3x Shrapnel Blast
4x Fork
4x Fireblast

(20) Land
8x Mountain
4x Wooded Foothills
4x Bloodstained Mire
4x Great Furnace

The way I see a hand is the potential to deal damage in the first few turns.  If I have a
hand with 2 lands and 5 burn spells, I expect to draw another land so that puts me
with the job of discarding as many cards as I can to deal maximum damage.  I only want
a creature on the first turn or as a followup to burn on the second to maximize the
damage I can deal.  Ideally my first turn would drop a 2/1, the second would attack,
drop creature and burn, and the third would attack, burn two more times and
drop Fireblast (or burn and Shrapnel Blast) for a kill.

So questions I have are whether I should burn off blockers or keep swinging?  Is Mox Monkey
better than the maximum damage plan?  How good is Pillar in an evolved metagame?

Please review my deck and let me know how feasible it is in your metagame.  Thanks.

Why Goblin Lackey over Mogg Fanatic? >Sad
Wouldn't you want Lackey to bring in high casting cost goblins?  Wink

Firstly, I want to say this deck (without being harsh) will never be competive.  Pure linear aggro strategies never work.  There is no disruption, no draw, and no real big threats.

Almost always save your burn for removal.  The only time you shouldnt is when your opponent is within burn range.

Yes. You NEED disruption!  Monkey's, Wasteland, Lavamancer, Null Rod, ect...

Pillar is excellent against combo, can also be good against control late game when they are low on life.

Also, why Lackey when your not running any other goblins?

I like lava dart more than fire/ice in Mono Red.  Sure, the synergy with pillar sucks, but vs fish and welders, it is much better.  lackey is not optimal.  Lavamancer or fanatic would be better.  In this deck, he might as well be Mon's Goblin Raiders.

Maybe the lackey is there as counter bait?
