In the video coverage of Pro Tour Philadelphia, Randy Buehler and Mike Flores mention shuffling a lot. With all those Kodama's Reaches, Time of Need and Sakura Tribe Elders in Block, they say that the shuffling makes the rounds very long. Now I wonder, since Vintage has had this "problem" ever since. The decks we play have on average eight shuffling effects (5 Fetchlands, 3 Tutors), in many cases more.

Now, control matches in Vintage often go to time. Is shuffling partially responsible for that? If you take just two minutes for a shuffle, with a rough estimation you could say that at least 10 minutes a round get "lost" for in-game shuffling. Should this be rectified by playing 60-minute rounds in Vintage? I have no data back-up for this, just fishing for opinions here. (I also feel that this has been discussed before, I just could not find it.)

To be precise: Would 60-minute rounds be too long? Personally, I think they would, and there is no need.

[EDIT: Ray stole your thread, and I had some replies to his post, so my reply has been moved.]

Lol...I made my post in the thread into a sperate thread because I DIDN'T want to step on Dozer's toes and I thought I was headed in a different dirrection from what he was saying.

If my comments were really not that far off, please merge my thread back in...I certainly didn't want to steal anyone's thunder.

RIP Mogg Fanatic...at least you are still better than Fire Bowman!!!

I was once asked on MWS, what the highest I ever finished at a TMD Open was.  I replied, "I've never played in a Waterbury.  I was then called "A TOTAL NOOB!"
