Congratulations, YMTC3 is the first to be a true pile.  You would think for a people's choice trademark card they could cost the thing more aggressively at the least.  5 mana instant? NO THANK YOU.

I also like how the only cards it comboes well with are red, but the card is white or blue/white.  strike 2.  Unless they add something else on, or modify the cost DOWN this is going to be terrible.

Hey, that's actually pretty close to what I said. It's even slightly better.

This should be an instant because it's much more versatile that way. It could be instant removal as well as a combat trick. I think I'd want it to be a 2UW instant.

IMG, I predicted a CC correctly! I think all of the above are too high to justify putting this card in a constructed deck. By the time they make this card, the number of cards in hand won't matter as much as it does in the current block. One mana less and this card would be good.

Let's try resource point theory on this, that tends to work well for (semi-)draw spells. Let's say we vote for the instant 2WU (and we likely will).

Then this card costs 4 rp (mana cost) + 4 rp (the card itself) = 8

It nets you 4 x (power - toughness).

That means that for this to be actual card advantage rather than 'just' filtering, madness enabler, spot removal, mass discard for your opponent (removing a Kami of Old Stone!), or a creature saver, the power-toughness difference would have to be 3 (say, a 4/1, a 5/2 or a 6/3). If the difference is 2 (3/1, 4/2, 5/3 etc.) it would be good enough (namely even, rp theory-wise) provided you could get some actual benefit from the removed creature coming back.

Besides the obvious Blistering Firecat nonsense (allowing it to attack for 2 turns whilst drawing a net amount of 6 cards), this could be cool for, say, Flametonge Kavu. Kavu CIP kills fattie (maybe you have Anger in the yard and swing :-), opponent wants to STP it, you play Card J and draw 4. Next upkeep, Kavu CIP kills another fattie, you discard 2 Rootwallas and swing for 10. Or something. There's bound to be a billion more 'combos' like that in the game (Ancient Hydra, Rasputin Dreamweaver...whatever).

It needs to be an instant because it needs to be wishable as well as be cast in response to an opponent targeting your guy. Insane card advantage, yo.

I´m gonna have a blast with this card in casual and T4 and maybe even in bad constructed :-)

I think G would be playable in Vintage if it was one blue mana.  The synergy with Wasteland and Fetchies would be incredible.

I can see how J would be popular, too bad it's no Crucible.

I'm glad J got picked, that's such a great concept. Getting this as Sorcery would be kinda crappy, but Instant is very hot. Voted 2UW then.

But for the record, this card sucks sweaty manball. I can't believe they'd make something so crappy for YMTC. I'd take Gzargo's Plow any day over this turd. Fro is even better than this steaming mango-sized dump (and it really IS mango-sized with that casting cost). I'm very sad, 'cuz I wanted to chain Veteran Explorers and/or Academy Rectors with "C".

And, one would think for a promotional card like this they would have chosen a broken cost for it.  I say Instant UW.  That makes it playable in constructed.  For now it will probably be a good chase rare to sell when the set comes out!

Bleh. It's a cool card, and it's decent.

Besides, the mana costs are indicative at best anyway. Look at Forgotten Ancient...they bumped that because ot was too good during playtesting. Who knows? Maybe they'll lower it if it turns out to be unplayable.
