About Tinker

I have some questions about Tinker and I would be gratefull if you could enlighten me!

1) I have a Powder Keg in play and I wish to cast Tinker. I target the Powder Keg in order to sacrifice it and trigger Tinker's ability, BUT after targeting Powder Keg I activate the Keg sacrificing it in order to remove some creatures/artifacts that bother me. The Keg's ability counts as an instant(quicker than Tinker's sorcery) so the Keg's ability is quicker of Tinker's ability. So what happens now? Do I get to search my library for another artifact and bring it into play, or not? Please explain me how do things like that work.

2) Does it worth to run a Tinker-Platinum Angel in my Monoblue Control deck which has no more than 8 artifacts(3 Powder Keg, 2 Crucible of Worlds, 1 Sol Ring, 2 Vedalken Shackles)?

Your #1 is all wrong. When you announce Tinker, you have to pay all the costs before anyone gets priority. That means you sacrifice the keg without any chance to use its ability. It also means your opponent cannot respond to Tinker by killing the artifact, since by the time they get a chance to play instants, the artifact is already in the graveyard.
