Some of you may remember me, most of you probably don't Smile I've been away from Magic for a while now as I was finishing up medical school...but now that I've moved to Syracuse, it's time for me to dust off my cards and start playing again. I remember coming to Syracuse for a TMD tournament a while back...is there still a vintage scene here? Some of you must be living in the central NY area, and any suggestions about places to play would be greatly appreciated. Also, any general advice about things to do and places to see would be great.

Hey, I remember you.  It has been a while.  But then I'm only just getting back into Magic as well.  Welcome back.

Hey Mith, I remember you.  You wanted to know what kind of sleeves to get for a finished keeper list.  :p

As far as I know, there's nothing in Syracuse except Altered States trying to barn off Starcity Games.  Rochester is going to do a hell of a lot better.

There's lots of Type 1 in Binghamton, though most of it is the "hang out and test" variety.
PM me if you'd like to come down sometime!

...any general advice about things to do and places to see would be great.

My advice would be to jump on I-81 and head south for about 45 minutes to an hour until you hit Binghamton, where you can see the preserved remains of one of the birthplaces of northeastern Type 1 Magic. We give tours on Saturday afternoons at 1:30pm and Wednesday evenings at 5:00pm at Fat Cat Books on Main St.

Hey, wasn't your girlfriend hot or something? And welcome to central NY.

Which one?  Wink Actually, I got engaged to my girl, and we bought a place here in Syracuse to settle down. Damn I'm getting old  Confused I should post pics of my new place sometime.

Thanks for the info guys. I just started my residency at SUNY Upstate...doing 80hrs a week. Now that I know when and where you guys play, I'll try to start making the trip to Bing.
