I showed up to a local Chaos tournament. (Don't ask me what the storeowner was thinking for this one.) It had some hilarious results. It was only for fun anyway, but I wanted to do the "Shock and Awe" thing so I played this.
4 City of Brass 4 Scrubland 4 Gemstone Mine 4 Tithe 4 Tundra 5 Moxen 1 Lotus 1 Solring 1 Grim Monolith 1 Mana Vault 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Vampiric Tutor 4 Inheritance 4 Enduring Renewal 4 Phyrexian Walker 4 Ornithopter 1 Elightened Tutor 1 Ancestral recall 1 Time Walk 1 Timetwister 1 Mind Twist 2 Soldevi Digger 1 Tormod's Crypt 1 Balance 1 Zuran Orb 4 Ashnod's Altar 4 phyrexian Altar 4 Argivian Find 4 Dark Ritual 4 Humility 1 Tinker 1 Jester's Cap 1 Replenish 60
Slightly mean, but amusing as heck. My third turn rolls around, I have in play Inheritance, Phyrexian altar, sol ring and some land. Everyone has pretty much left me alone the whole time because I started out with Inheritance and who kills the guy running that? I saw the guy trying to run counters is tapped out so it's time for some fun. I drop Enduring Renewal and heads turn. Ornithopter goes down and the fun begins. Infinite colored mana time!
Killing the thopter and making mana allows me to draw up my deck off the inheritance and drop Soldevi Digger, Zuran Orb, Jester's cap, and tormods crypt. I recycle a Mind twist with the Digger and drop every's hands. Then recycle the jester's cap taking all libraries. Everyone is just sort of sitting there in shock, but I think no one leaves just because they want to see the monstrosity at work. Good time for Balance! Then topping it off I remove evereone's graveyard including my own leaving nothing in play, no one with a hand, no libraries, and no graveyards.
Go...
Ok, I don't think they'll ever let me do that again. lol What's more amusing is what happened later. I said I'd play something a lil more tame (mono-white randomness from my trade folder) and we started it up again. I was taken out early. Guess that lil stunt got me a big target put on my head. There is only one other player (Jeff) who is one of the usual tournament winners left. Everyone leaves him alone because all he does is sit there not doing anything but playing land and keeping a full hand. I think it's more out of fear of what he could put together and use all that land for. It comes down to him and the last other player. Then he does something extremely hilarious, he concedes? He drops his hand, it's full of land. Then he turns his deck over and that whole thing was nothing but a stack of basic land. Lmao! Second place. Not bad for basics.
