Seeing as how you have no maindeck instants other than Ancestral Recall, its possible that putting in some In the Eye would help, as it protects you from control decks, and it doesn't affect your main draw spell, like it would in most decks using thirst.  I would personally cut either 3x shaman or 3x null rod for it, though, as that seems like a LOT of effort to shut down enemy moxes.

Target player draws three cards. Then that player discards two cards unless he or she discards a land card.

Your deck could do well by utilizing this new TfK variant w/ItEoC maindeck.

If I had to play this deck again right now I would actually drop blue and play black instead. TFK is better than either thoughtcast or Compulsive Research, but I think tutors + chains of Meph. are better than that.

In general, I am content with the disruption package in this deck. Null rod does things that G-shaman doesnt do, and G-shaman puts you ahead in the permanent race in the current stax heavy metagame and prevents the most popular weld targets from getting exchanged. I would drop null rod before Shaman, and if i did drop null rod I would be running 4 shaman main.

I am comfortable running this deck against any stax deck out there, but need to test a few varients against some good drain decks (CS and gifts). Thanks for all your input so far.

About chalice: It is a fantastic card that can wreck your opponent if you go first. However, if you dont go first the card is a turn too late. It could belong in the sideboard for matches where you are on the play or against decks with a ton of 1cc and 2cc cards.

n-rod and g-shaman are different enough to both warrant inclusion. yes they both hose moxes, but n-rod turns off win conditions too, esp trike, and shaman can eat bigger non-activated things w enough mana. w academy, its easy to destroy crucibles and such.
