The foil version will be great!

I kinda like the image, even the old one represents more for the majority of us. Mr. Green

I like them, although I like the original art more (but that's just me being nostalgic). I traded my old ones recently, so I'm picking up 4 Russian foils as soon as the price for Ravnica chase cards stabilizes a bit.  Mr. Green

I think that the flavour text is very appropriate.

I think the art is done well with the flavour of the set an it looks alot like a REAL bird of paradise. However the old picture is the best by far.

Just looking objectively at the old Birds picture (though in the end I suggest a gaze far more sentimental), it is actually pretty dorky.  (And what is that black smoke about?)  The pink of the new Bird is humourous and vain and in keeping with the (fitting) flavour text.  The building behind reminds me of the facade of the Duomo in Florence.  All in all I like it.  Beta Birds are still the better bling to me, though.

I actually really like the new art and am a big fan.  I ripped a foil one out of my prize packs at the pre release!!!  It is weird though, they foiled the background but not the actual bird.

I love it. The old image is still better because of nostalgic reasons, but given that they needed new art, they couldn't have done a better job.

No it doesn't. Ik looks like some exotic, tropical (possibly pimped) pelican.

I believe that the Beta pic was originally meant to be a pic for Tropical or Volcanic Island(thus the smoking), however with the brids so prominent in front they  used the art for a card they named Birds of Paradise.  I could be wrong, but I swear I remember hearing that story.

As far as the new art goes.  It's not bad, but I'd take a beta over that new card anyday.  Beta Birds are far better than foil ones.  And although I'd take a Beta, the new art is the best so far for the Birds of Paradise.  I normally like Ed Beard Jr's work, but the middle rendition of Birds just never "did it" for me.

The card of the day for Sept 21 does state that the picture was originally for Trop Island.

I do like the new picture, but I would still rather have the old Birds in my deck.

I cracked a foil birds at the pre-release, IMO it looks terrible, personally I like the Ed Beard birds best.

I think it's a mix of Zapdos and Articuno (or maybe the fire one).  If it was jagged it would totally be a Zapdos.  Legendary Bird Pokemon forever!

It does indeed have Zapdos's beak and yellow body along with Articuno's tail dyed a few more colors. The fire one was Moltres, and now that I think about it, it had pretty similar wings to the new BoP's.

Honestly, who gets their Legendary Bird Pokemon mixed up.  Rolling Eyes

...Somebody get the Holy Water.

Anyhoo, while I really like Beard's rendition, this is much better than I thought they would do.  Something like a toucan sitting on a tree, squawking; with comedic-ish flavor text about Goblins playing catch with them.

I think the card looks amazing.
Especially how they tied the Bird into the new set theme, I think the flavor text is awesome.

But I'm sorta disappointed at the Bird's flare ....
It looks like he just ate a Burrito ...  City Food! Smile
I wish it was done a little differently, maybe with a different selections of colors, and patterns.
