What is UP with all the bomberman around there? Do people not play with Needle / Chalice? LoL.. Chalice and Needle is good against Control Slaver too right? And do ppl stop playing CS because of that? All "good" deck have answer to the hate you play against them and bomberman is no different.

A lot of people misunderstand Bomberman: It's not a combo deck. It's a Control-Combo-Agro Deck. Bringing combo hate like CotV or event worst, Needle, won't stop the deck at all! They will tutor (with Trinket Mage) for a Engeneered explosive and destroy your hate or they will simply beat you. Mage Beatdownâ„¢ (Trinket and Meddling) wins a lot of games! Its versatility makes it efficient: Try it and you will understand why I say it's a Control-Combo-Agro deck. Bomberman is probably one of the most underrated deck... A deck that placed 4th and 5th in the last Syracuse Power tourney and bring back 2 Moxen shouldn't be a bad deck...

I did not mean it in a disrespecting way. I'm just so surprised to see Bomberman doing so good. But I don't think that the deck is able to beat Staxx, with Sphere's, Chalice's, etc..

I don't know why you find it so surprising... The metagame had 4 Stax (Out of 32 decks), that's not that much! Stax is not a very good matchup for bomberman, but it's not impossible to win. I finished 3rd in that tournament with Bomberman and in the 6th round, I beated Stax to make top8. In the first game, I played early Meddling Mage and trinket Mage to beat him down to 2, when He topdecked Karn for the win... I won 2nd and 3rd game, thanks to Energy Flux and Disenchant!

Wow, that's a lot of infinite mana. Â Gotta love it. Â Now, if only that oath deck was salvagers based, you would have had the full triad.
Anyone in that top 8 going to write a report? Â I'd be very interested in seeing how those Salvagers (Gifts or Bomberman) decks faired against the Workshop decks that packed chalices and spheres.

I'm surprised more people didn't play Stax. In a meta of Bomberman and Gifts-with-terrible-mana-bases, it seems like Stax would streamroll.

It was clearly the best metagame choice, even before meandeck gifts was publicly revealed, and before stax started winning the big tournaments (and that for some ungodly reason people are just like sheeps - the follow blindly whatever deck won the last tourney). Basically, all the stax players were just on the border between top-8 and not top-8, and they all got amongst the top tables. What happenned is that the pairings turned in a way that the stax eliminated themselves. I am sure that the 9th-10th positions are stax players.
In addition, I believe that every stax deck player at least 2 null rod, in foresight of the expected metagame. It is hard to explain how such a clearly great choice didn't turn up into more wins, but I guess that it can be mostly attributed to the pairings, from what I can recall.

Umm Stax has a VERY hard time dealing with Sacred Ground.

Five out of eight decks in top 8 ran Salvagers?
Then again, it looked like the field was 1/3 Salvagers/Bomberman.
Sounds like a friggin nightmare!
