Ps-games together with Gameforce are organising the Open Dutch Vintage championships on day 3 of the Spellenspektakel (30-10-2005) (a fair with Card/Board games and such, organised by 999 games. It's like Essen, only smaller though). The spellenspektakel adres: Beursgebouw Eindhoven Lardinoisstraat 8 This is the prize-support when the tournament was announced, but right now it's also confirmed that 1st will be a Black Lotus, with the Mox Jet for 2nd. The rest of the prize support will probably become more clear as the date draws nearer. (there will also be prize support for best unpowered). The format is sanctioned T1, with 6 or 7 round of swiss, cut to T8. Costs are 15 euros, but that includes entrance (which is 10, seperately). Be sure that when you buy your ticket, you hang on to it, since that will get you the discount. If you for some reason lose it, you will have to pay the full price! As it stands, it's doors at 10, Start at 11. This is subject to change however, since it might be a good idea to start earlier. T8 will be played in the Holiday Inn or the gameforce store. Pre-registration is possible by mailing magic@ps-games.nl with your name and dci-number. Currently, ps-games is working on the possibility of online-registration. Keep checking this thread for possible updates! Also, as an aside: if any people I know need some room to stay, I can house up to like 5 people for sure, possibly more.

I'm there. Let's hope for more people than the Belgian Vintage Championships. But the price support is better, and there are more Dutch T1 players, so it should be ok!

No room in the house exceeds a length of twenty-five feet, let alone fifty feet, let alone fifty-six and a half feet, and yet Chad and Daisy's voices are echoing, each call responding with an entirely separate answer. In the living room, Navidson discovers the echoes emanating from a dark, doorless hallway which has appeared out of nowhere in the west wall.

Yeah, I talked to the OP-manager about this and it looks to become a very cool event
On a sidenote: are there like, results/T8 decklists from the Belgian Champs?

turnout: 48 :/ I managed 3-2-1 with mono-red Uba Stax (one extra win needed to top 8). Top 8: Bernardo Gaivao with Oath lost to a German with Slaver 2 Goblin (one Food Chain, one not) Green (or G/b) land destruction vs something with blue (I think Gifts.dec) Mono-brown (with Metalworker) beat ? One German won. If there is more info, you should find it there.

Team CAB will be there, only we don't know yet with how many people. I'll come in any case, and appearently Oli is planning to come as well plus some more. Looking forward to play some T4 with the Dutchies... we should work something out where and when. I'll get back to you guys later when we have more details!
Yay, this will be great.

Any idea on how many people have pre-reg'd atm? Will there be a maximum number of attendants, as this will probably be played in the add-on part of the building? And indeed, this is going to be great

Yay! I promise you that I will actually prepare for this event so expect me pumped! Big public thanks to Rudy for hosting me and a friend. (We will come sometime late afternoon on Friday, but I'll give you details as soon as we know when exactly.)
And when I say prepare, I am going to crush my opponents under the heels of my steel-capped chrome-tipped iron-soled Magic boots, merciless and unstoppable.*
...
*(Unless I screw up, in which case I promise to write an entertaining tournament report. Or something.)

There are 125 pre-registered players right now, not so many germans yet, but definately a lot of belgian players (alongside the dutch, obv.) So it's bound to be big and awesom

Small updates to the original post (you can follow the actual announcement thread on http://www.kvdeckmasters.nl/Forum/index.php?topic=5131.0): Added to the black lotus and mox jet for 1st and 2nd, is a Signed Jester's Cap Art print [Dan Frazier] for 1st. The tournament will be 10 euros. the doors actually open at 9:30, at the BACKENTRANCE of the building. 11:00 sharp the tournament will start, so do NOT be late. This entrance is only available to tournament-players, in case you are bringing friends/relatives not participating. They will still have to go through the front door. (which you can also do, but expect a huge queu there).

And I read that right that players are not allowed to bring food or drink into the venue? What are we going to eat then, overprized bread rolls with a salad leaf? No, that's alright, as long as there's drinking water at the venue somewhere. Yay, PUMPED!

Well, I'll concede that it will not be as strict as at other venues where magic tournaments are being held. BUT, do realise that a LOT of good venues do not want to come near any magic tournament with an 11-foot pole, which is the sole reason for this rule to exists. It is strictly enforced at PTQs and other tournaments and the Netherlands. Now I know that at this particular venue it might be a little different, but I would still advise you to at least not do it in the tournament area. I won't be held accountable for any consequences if you do.
edit: the easiest solution is probably to just walk outside, eat your lunch, and get back in. It's no problem, they have some sort of stamping system.

What about party, women and drinks? :p There's this game we played at German nationals... we played 9-player Mental Magic from one big stack, and for every two points of damage you took, you had to drink a shot. You could only attack the player with the highest life total, though. Mental Magic when you slowly intoxicate yourself is, in all honesty, extremely funny! Second-best thing that happened was Swords to Plowshares on Kumano in response to an activation. Best thing that happened was someone playing a Brainstorm with a Standstill on the table.
I got hit by a 26-point attack in one game. 13 shots in one go! Ah, the memories... wait, which memories?
So... at least some drinks, a nice get-together, seeing TMD people for real?
