I have played oath till the wheels fall off and can practically play it in my sleep.  Although I am keeping the deck together, it is starting to lose its fun for me.  I am looking for a new deck to play at my local tournament.

before I get any rerecommendationsthere is a catch.  my tournament is no proxy, no power 9 and no sideboard.  i have tried a few different ideas, but not many of the decks on here or in the SCGs deck machine work real well unpowered.  Fish is crap because it has next to nothing to exploit.  A chalice for 0 stops a mana crypt and the odd chrome or diamond, and thats about it.  As well, no sideboard means I have to build a deck that is resilient on its own without help.

I am not looking for specific decklists, but just deck archetypes that could be altered to fit in this format.  Dragon seems to work well, and so does stacks, although it runs a little slower than normal.

any recommendations, or am i  just going to hear an echo?

You could always look to Legacy for inspiration. I know Dragon and Stax were both fairly big pre-ban there, and Oath would have been if they'd had Orchards. With Drains, Landstill isn't the terrible pile it is in current Legacy (although no SB is an issue), and Goblins is always a solid option, especially since in T1 you get Recruiter.

Depending on the meta you could play a black and white control deck. Although with a creature heavy metagame this would not be a solid choice.

spoils dragon in pre-ban legacy was supposed to be a beast.

you can probably find PTW old list somewhere on the boards.

Don't play Slaver; it is an awful deck, and it is impossible to actually play correctly.

Try Dragon, with a lot of disruption main ( in order to ensure the no sideboard issue ).

But, dragon is a deck you can be tired fast so like others said, try some deck of Legacy.

Personnaly, I would try Dragon or any Survival of the Fittest deck ( Survival is very consistent even without sideboard because most of ur solutions are main deck ).

Thanks for all the help.  I have proxied out food chain and spoils dragon and am testing them right now.  I do have another question.

I have searched everywhere for an updated primer of FCG and cant find it anywhere.  I have read the one on here and am confident with my stacking, but there have been a few changes to the deck that I am unsure of, mainly the use of Kikki and how to use him properly.

help would be appreciated, and thanks again.

The stacks are basically the same now as they were back then...kiki jiki is just really broken off Goblin Lackey (heh, if anything in goblins is really "broken")

Just remember that you can copy a dude after their end of turn triggers so it will stick around for your next turn...then you can copy again and either get as many as 3 lackeys through or an extra couple of Piledrivers is nice for the turn 3 win every now and then...
