This is a casual deck I've been working on recently, it started out as a proposal for the Saviours deck in Battle of the Sets, but in the end Alfred and Legend decided on the current WW build. I then did a complete rebuild along the same theme, except with a full cardpool, and have been testing it on and off ever since.

This is the deck in its Saviours-only form:

// Lands
    2  Oboro, Palace in the Clouds
    13  Forest
    10  Island

// Creatures
    3  Oboro Envoy
    4  Elder Pine of Jukai
    4  Descendant of Masumaro
    4  Haru-Onna
    4  Sakura-Tribe Scout
    2  Soramaro, First to Dream
    4  Dreamcatcher

// Spells
    2  Rending Vines
    4  Murmurs from Beyond
    4  Oppressive Will

My current version, with all of 8 nonland cards that were in the first deck:

// Lands
    8  Island
    1  Oboro, Palace in the Clouds
    1  Minamo, School at Water's Edge
    12  Forest
    1  Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers
    4  Tropical Island

// Creatures
    3  Meloku the Clouded Mirror
    4  Yavimaya Elder
    2  Oboro Envoy
    4  Soratami Cloudskater
    4  Sakura-Tribe Scout
    4  Budoka Gardener--Dokai, Weaver of Life
    4  Vinelasher Kudzu

// Spells
    4  Mana Leak
    2  Rending Vines
    3  Compulsive Research

As you can see, it's all about shifting lots of lands from hand to play and back, and profiting from both transitions.

Card-specific notes:

Vinelasher Kudzu: He's the most important creature in the deck, and he gets very big, very fast.

Meloku: Even more stupid then normal.

Soratami Cloudskater: An underappreciated card which is brilliant here, filtering away excess land for more gas.

Budoka Gardener: Never expected to flip, but even unflipped he's still a bear with a good ability.

Oboro Envoy: A concession to multiplayer games - he doesn't really fit the aggro-control play style, but he makes attacking me seem much less inviting.

Compulsive Research - This is the a card I'm really not happy with. I often don't like throwing away lands, and it's a Sorcery. There has to be something better and more synergetic out there for 3 mana or less. NB: Gush is the obvious choice for that spot, but I'm trying to stick to Vintage/Legacy B&R, and I'm not sure how much flak I would get from my playgroup for running an illegal deck.

So, any suggestions? If anyone could come up with a better draw spell than Compulsive Research for this deck I'd be a very happy bunny, but my MWS searches have come up with TfK (less good here), Fact or Fiction (1 mana little too expensive) and not much else.
