Pastimes will be hosting a Type1 tournament in Feburary for a Mox Ruby. If this tourney gets good attendance there will be future tournaments scheduled. These can be a great practice for SCG events and further establish the T1 metagame for the midwest. Here is the info: Location: Pastimes 8351 Golf Road Niles, IL Date: Feb 26, 2006 Proxy Rules: 5 plus $1 for each additional Proxy Sanctioned: No Entry Fee: $20 + proxies over 5 Entry Time: 11:00 am Prize: Garaunteed Mox Ruby for first. This is good, we're getting closer and closer to home. Perhaps if we drum up enough interest in the locals around here, we can even start events up in Rockford! But this is awesome for now. Count Team RT in.

The last time I played an ICBM member, I won. Now, Ian did beat me that one time, but I was playing TPS. Now if I had been playing a real deck, like...Tooth and Nail, I surely would have won. |

It sounds like Justin is pretty sure of himself against other random combo players, but his only flaw is that he consistantly fails to barn the mirror. Were the foils too bright/shiny/distracting? Did Doctor Doom just take an extended bathroom break? Sounds like an internal coup or something to me.
Regardless, there will be at least 8 random Mirrodin artifacts in this top 8. This will learn you, Chicago.

Are you just mad because your name isn't in there, or are you mad because you'll have to rent Titanic on your way home? If I were you, I'd probably be mad about the latter. And since when did a top 8 at the last tournament mean you'll get one at your next tournament? I guess you really do have to do something significant to gain credibility for saying anything relevant. Oh wait, is that why I never see your name anywhere? I suppose you'll have to take a huge load in the face from the other side of the board to straighten you up. We'll see how things turn out. To state something relevant, Rockford is bringing six people. We're just out to have a good time and we'll probably be playing some Type 4 or something between rounds. Hope to see you all there. Never mind the fact that Roland and Jim each have as many SCG T8s as your entire team, Jacob and Steve each have more (three apiece), and Kevin has the W ( Hey, so do I. -J). Hell, if you want to count just Chicago, Roland, Jim, and Steve each have 2 there (and Steve didn't even go to one of them!). |

Nova, nothing personal or anything, but it's really getting on my nerves how much you promote and give shout outs for Mr. Dan Carp. Like, is he your significant other or something? I mean, I'm close with all of my teammates and I love to support them, but I don't single one out and constantly quote. I think it's about time you talk about your own accomplishments instead of living vicariously through other's. Sit down and win something.

That's a shame that you've been in a slump. Slaver and Oath are not dead decks by far, so why put those down? People write off my deck as a dead deck at the moment because they feel Uba is far superior, but that doesn't stop me. Find your niche and I hope it will reward you.
As for Dan... honestly, the guy is an utter annoyance. I read his cocky posts and feel disgusted. Once in a while, I'll find some truth in what he says, but then he has to go on and say the most arrogant things about how he'll "crush" someone else at a tourney. Seriously though, show me some real results at more non-local tournaments and I might take to heart some of his BS. I'm not one to make enemies so don't take this the wrong way ICBM folk. All I really want is a forum without sh*t talking and arrogant people who have nothing better to do. Innovate or something...

And I agree, a lot of times Dan's arrogance is a little TOO Annoying, but he really is a good guy (like i said on IRC, you just gotta knock the shit out of him. He thought he was tough shit until we wrestled and i dropped him in <10 seconds)
Roland, anything I say is in a not-so-serious mood too. Come on, you know this! you played me first round in the first SCG in chicago, and I laughed the whole time while you crushed me! This game to me is more about meeting new faces and making new friends, not who im going to crush (though it is fun to trashtalk GWS and Ogre, but we're friendly with GWS, and haven't really competed with ogre in any events)

I'll surely commit to at least one of those tournaments. This weekend belongs to Cleveland's Mox Tournament, but good luck with the one in Chicago. I specifically do remember that first match against you in Chicago and I really hope you are all about meeting people and having a fun time. It could be me just a lil' disgruntled about the whole NY P9 situationi. Let me tell ya, it's been a total mind-f*ck the last couple of days... it's like getting a raincheck after you won the lottery.
