Round 2: 1-2 against Zoo (piloted by Dan); 1-1

And the obligatory Props and Slops:
Props:

...Dan, for showing up for the sole purpose of beating me, and succeeding.
I don't mean to rub it in, but, I definitely went 2-0 against you...not 2-1.  I distinctly remember predicting you revealing Hippie off the Confidant, laughing when it happened, and the bolting you for the match in game 2.  I'm glad you still made it to the top 4 after such a spanking, lol.

As far as Affinity kid goes...Oh well.  However, no Zoo VS Affinity match should have ever gone the full 45 min.  Wtf?  The deck was well built, Fling Affinity, should be autopilot...right?  Nope.  The kid was very unfamiliar with the deck and its tricks but seriously, it's Affinity.  Swing and Fling!  It sucked, but it would have been unsportsmanlike for me to complain about it.  I really think the kid was young enough to be my son.  With that, I did just enough to stay out of top 4.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who showed up.  Congrats to Urza-Insane and his 6-0 record.  I hope everyone had a good time.  Due to the relatively nice turnout, plans will go ahead to run another event next month.  Tentatively, the prize structure will be altered, for next month, as follows:

1st- Playset of Revised Underground Seas
2nd- Playset of Wooded Foothills
3rd- ...still being discussed.  Possibly packs, Store Credit, a playset of ???, who knows.

Last place...oh yeah...the Rod of Spanking.  I'll try to get a foil one for next time.  Lol.

Damn! Why couldn't that have been the prize structure this time?! Razz I guess I'll just have to win next time too. Wink

But thanks for setting this up Dan and awesome job with your deck, you played it really well. I can't wait for future events.

-Matt

Also: A report is coming, but I'm swamped with homework at the moment. I'll probably have it up tomorrow.

Yeh, I agree. I could have played that Affinity deck better, and I've played the deck maybe once. (well, of course, I'm the greatest Magic player ever, so it's understandable that I could pilot it better  Cool).  Oh well, I'm sure Dan will get some form of vengeance next month.

Sounds good.  I'll definitely be there, ftw!

Edited to something constructive.

All in all a great tournament and despite small turnout I would totally reccomend more people look into this small prizes or not.  The metagame was an incredibly accurate one for the 16 people that were there with a bunch of tier 1 and tier 2 decks and no jank in sight.
