As part of a promotion of the Belgian T1 scene, we have a new open "club" championship. Last time was 14 players, but we outgrew that (no ones living room is big enough) and made an alliance with a new gaming shop in town. The idea is to have a proxy tournament with a low entree fee and interesting prizes for T8 (so no boosters, although we might throw some in).

When: 28/05/2006 (05/28/2006 for you Americans, but I don't think you will attend)
Where: Outpost Ghent, Ottergemsesteenweg 13
What: Proxy tournament (non-sanctioned). x rounds of swiss with top 8 or top 4
A maximum of 20 proxies, and you can only proxy cards that are worth 50 euros and up + duals and forces. This should enable everyone to construct a T1 deck and play! This is in a store, so you can still buy cards that you need.
Fee: 2€, and please register upfront. Mail to opg.proxy@hotmail.com
Prize support:
1) Force of Will
2) Oath of druids
Undiscovered Paradise, Regrowth (itItalian Treetop Village en Merchant Scroll.

No room in the house exceeds a length of twenty-five feet, let alone fifty feet, let alone fifty-six and a half feet, and yet Chad and Daisy's voices are echoing, each call responding with an entirely separate answer. In the living room, Navidson discovers the echoes emanating from a dark, doorless hallway which has appeared out of nowhere in the west wall.

This sounds rather interesting, but exactly what cards are you valuing at over fifty euros?  It should be self explanatory to those who understand price levels (I don't know euro-to-dollar exchange, offhand), but wouldn't it just be better to have a predetermined list?

I forgot to post it here. Prize reference is www.nedermagic.nl. So yes, you can proxy Chains of Mephistopheles and Old man of the sea. No you can't proxy reset.  the shop is a little high priced for some cards, but we had to take a reference somewhere. Anyway, I promise you won't be excluded if the card happens to be $45 or something. The primary objective is to let people know what T1 is, and for us it's to learn and have fun.

Edit: I got a list from the shop: Black Lotus, alle Moxes, Time Walk, Time Twister, Ancestral Recall, Berserk, Ali from Cairo, Bazaar of Baghdad, Guardian Beast, Juzam Djinn, Library of Alexandria, Mana Drain, Mirror Universe, Mishra's Workshop and Candelabra of Tawnos can be proxied as > $50 cards.

A reminder that the tournament is this sunday. Hope all those in the area can make it.
