A dismal turnout of 12 people gathered at Eudemonia 4 for a Mox Jet, and the store was awesome enough to keep the Jet as prize anyways (if less than 8 show up, then prize is not guaraunteed.

4 rounds of Swiss and cut to top 4 leave

LotusHead piloting The Gilded Claw
Webster piloting Bob Tendrils
Marco piloting Bob Tendrils
Victor piloting Bob Drain Tendrils

Reports/Lists and pictures should be up at www.eudemonia.net/p9

Round 1 I play against Michael Klemic piloting Control Slaver.

Game 1 he mulls to 5, I belive, and I get to bust out with all sorts of goodness only to be answered by Tormod's Crypt, Echoing Truth and (had Sundering Titan not hit the field) Rack and Ruin.
I don't remember much about this game.

Game 2 I mull to 5 and he Tinkers for Colossus at some point (probably after draining my Duplicant to hardcast his Triskellion to kill my double Welders.

Game 3: He mulls to 6 or 5 and I topdeck shops and stuff to hardcast Sundering Titan for the pwn again.

Round 2: I get paired up against Webster who pwns me two games in a row. Game 2 I keep a hand that has no gas, but does have first turn Mana Crypt, Chalice for Zero, Shop, Shere of Resistance, Sphere of Reistance with Chalice #2 still in hand.

I lose regardless (he bounced my stuff a few times). I do get to resolve a Sundering Titan, but he does a Mini Tendrils to get me within range of dying to Mana Crypt. Or Bob. I lose.

Round 3: Feature match against Victor Anderson playing StormDrain. Game 1 I rip Mana Vault off the top and lead with Wasteland, Mana Crypt, Crucible of Worlds which resolves. I had Ghost Quarters still in hand and I may have played Chalice for 0 for fun (which probably got Rebuilded) I eventually resolve a Welder, then two, and after he Memory Jar'd, I had my own Memory Jar in my graveyard. So I went bonkers and kept Jarring enough times to make him mana burn himself to death to put himself in Mana Crypt Damage range in order to not get killed by Decking. He loses the flip and hence denies my my Jar Victory.

Game 2 He mulls, then forces two threats in one turn leaving him with no hand. I win topdecking war and put many dangerous permanents on the field. We were gonna get cute in exactly how he was gonna die, but I am terrified of topdecked YawgWill so I dutifully turn my dudes sideways untill his life reaches zero.

Round 4: Jonathon Pearlman playing Ichorid.

Game 1: He starts with Lotus, Bazaar, draw 2, discard 2 dredgecards and a gemstone mine, braintorm dredge dredge dredge put two back, brainstorm dredge dredge maybe draw a card, put two back chalice for zero.
I lead with Ghost Quarters on Bazaar.

He hits me which Ichorids a few times until I put Mr Trisk into play, followed by other fatties and crazy cards. I may have Tinkered for Karn just so I could swing with MindSlaver!

Game 2, in come the Leylines. He leads with Bazaar, draw 2, discard a few dredge cards, mox, chalice for 0. I lead with Shop, Darksteel Ingot ANCESTRAL RECALL TARGETING MYSELF!
I never get to resolve it, but this time it resolves netting my Gilded Lotus, Leyline of the Void and maybe Black Lotus or something. Next turn I rip Shop off the top, play Gilded Lotus then Leyline. Then Jonathon gives me a frowy face (after activating Bazaar and brainstorm for some crappy cards into his grave. I buts out with crazy permanents soon after and reduce his life to 0.

I make top 4!

I face Marco.

I beat him 2-1 in some pretty close games. I remember that game 2 (which he won) involved first turn Dark Ritual => Necropotence. He still took like 5 turns to kill me but drew 11 cards.

I'll edit in more details when I remember them.

Webster offers me a split. 340 divided by 2 is 170 cash in pocket, plus he gets a Steam Vents and $5 from me and I get the bye/free admission to the Lotus Tourney.

Whoot!

Props to Eudemonia for still keeping Jet/Cash equivalent as prizes.
Webster for finally beating me.

Slops:
My Mox Ruby. My deck had 59 cards. I don't know where my Ruby is at the moment. I had to find a sleeve and proxy and worry about the Ruby later.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)
