Hey all.  So...its like this.  With so much going on in the next few months, its tough for me to have a Waterbury soon.  I have my eyes on July 29th, but will post as soon as I know for sure.
In the meantime, however, I have had a hankering for some time to go back to my roots.  To run a tournament back when things were simpler, smaller, less pressure, sounds like a refreshing idea. So here goes:

TMD OPEN #9 Trial
Type 1 Mox/LOA Tournament

When:
May 27th, 2006

Where:
X9 Games in the Hampshire Mall
367 Russell Street
Hadley, MA. 01035

Time:
Registration 11:00 am - 11:45 am
Tourney Starts at 12:00 pm

Prizes based on 25+ people
1st: Unlimited Mox Ruby + a round 1 bye at the next TMD OPEN
2nd: Italian Legends Mana Drain
3rd,4th: Tropical Island
5-8th: 3 packs of Guildpact
(with prizes increased if attendance is 30+)

or

Prizes based on 15+ people
1st: Library of Alexandria + a round 1 bye at the next TMD OPEN
2nd: 2 Tropical Islands
3rd-4th: 9 packs of Guldpact
5-8th: 3 packs of Guildpact

**Please note that because of the size of the store, the store will not accomodate more than 40 people.  Once we reach 40 we will be forced to close admission.  If you wish to secure your spot, please preregister by PMing me, contacting me at iamfishman2000@hotmail.com, or calling at 203-618-3412.)**

Entry:
$20.00

Proxies:
15 proxies are allowed free of charge

Door prizes will be abound including a new game that I am previewing/testing for the next Waterbury.

The store will have food and beverages available for sale throughout the day.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Thanks,
Ray

I was once asked on MWS, what the highest I ever finished at a TMD Open was.  I replied, "I've never played in a Waterbury.  I was then called "A TOTAL NOOB!"

If you were serious about going back to your roots, you'd flip the middle finger to inflation and charge $10 for entry.  That aside, I'll most likely be attending provided I can hoof it up to Hadley in time after my soccer game.  Hadley is sauce.

Well, first we need the secondary value of type 1 cards to flip their collective middle finger at change and revert back to their 1999 prices.  Then, I would happily folllow suit. Smile

I chose $20 cause it was what all the cool kids(Beanie, Myriad, etc) were doing.  I'm such a follower.

Seeing that it is the hadley mall, there will likely be many many dinner sized areolas walking around in dirty slut clothing.  I am bringing a camera.

Aerolas? I think you mispelled tacos! And when you say dirty slut clothing...do you mean hot sauce?

Oh wait, taco bell closed.  Fiddle-sticks.

Lets hear some more noise.  Who's coming? Who's calling out who?

There's sand in my cooter.

I'll be there, but I'll likely be limping and holding my head--  I get laid off on Friday and I'll be celebrating pretty hard.

Top four was (in no particular order)

Me with Control Slaver
Ray (we convinced him to play) with Staxless Stax
Keith Johnson (ctthespian) with Intuition-Gifts
Jeff Greene with Intuition-Gifts.

I lost to Keith.  Jeff lost to Ray.

It was a very small and unfortunate attendance.  On the bright side, there wasn't a single person in the room that I would predict to do poorly in a large event, since the only people that showed up were CT and Hadley elite.  If we had gotten some representation from the Providence/Fall River area, we would have had most of the northeast name players in a round robin event.

I started the day going 5-0 in the swiss.  Lost game three to Keith on a minor play mistake (I gave him a one turn window to draw out of a game-over situation, and he topdecked Demonic->Will.)
