I swear, i'd show you what the best green card in magic is.... That's like saying that you would show him the fastest sprinter at the Special Olympics. Sure, but the guy's still special. Oath may be the best green card in MtG, but that is not saying a lot... Harkius

silvos whats not to like about a 8/5 trample regenerate ? but really: fastbond, regrowth, channel, maybe Berserk. oath doesnt come close. its good in decks, but the card alone isnt that good.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

oath doesnt come close. its good in decks, but the card alone isnt that good. Neither is Regrowth OK, what seriously good cards do we have by now? - Oath of Druids - Regrowth - Berserk - Channel - Elvish Spirit Guide - Fastbond - Crop Rotation - Survival of the Fittest To a lesser extent: - Land Grant - Gaea's Blessing - Xantid Swarm - Wild Mongrel - Root Maze - Life from the Loam I think that's a comprehensive list of all decent green cards in Vintage. Sadly. [EDIT] added crop rotation. how could I forget that? also: I agree with the xantid swarm. best.creature.evar

Lets not forget root maze.....! That card is a pain in the *ss
Also...nimble mongoose/werebear are "decent"...but definetly not on the "best green cards" list.

I'd add Crop Rotation to that list and consider Xantid Swarm as being decent.

I think that's a comprehensive list of all decent green cards in Vintage. Sadly.
Survival much? Also... HUNDROOG!!! Survival belongs in that list at least as much as Crop Rotation. It's definitely not the most viable Vintage card, but it does (did) enable a couple of decks. And if you are actually looking to build a "comprehensive list of all decent green cards in Vintage", then yes, Root Maze should be there, too.

You could add Life from the Loam to the 'maybe-list'. Living Wish couls also be on there (as it can fetch Tolarian Academy for you in Belcher... err... so, uhm... nevermind).

I think that there are two interesting things here.
First, I didn't actually start this thread. I posted, laughing at green cards, somewhere else. It magically became its own topic. And that is pretty damned cool.
Second, I don't think that it is legitimate to list every singe green card that sees play in Vintage. I think that this should get cut to Oath, Regrowth, Channel, Fastbond, Crop Rotation, and Land Grant. (I cut Blessing from the list because I don't know that I have ever seen a good Oath player actually cast Blessing).
