Today, I went to Hiroshima.  Without doubt, this is one of the most incredible places on Earth.  I feel very lucky to have been able to come to Hiroshima.

That's my LJ on the matter.  I had trouble finding the words to capture my impressions, so bear with me if you choose to read it.

I thought it was a great read.  Nice work.  I hope to be able to visit there someday.

Visiting my families temples opened my eyes, and my families homes and mainland Japanese relatives opened my mind, but it was Hiroshima that opened my heart. Reading your live journal, I am glad that you went. I too agree that every American and Japanese person should visit Hiroshima to see what mankind is truly capable of.
And with a little bad luck we will be able to see such events happen in the future. There are many, many idiots who would be happy to evaporate if they can take a 100.000 (e.g. US) citizens with them. It is the opportunity that fortunately is lacking. But for how long...

There's also no shortage of idiots who would recreate Hiroshima with your idiots playing the role of Japan, and they frankly are in a much better position to do it.

Are you planning to visit Nagasaki as well??

No.  Nagasaki is way the hell on the far West side of the island, over in Kyushu.  In other words, its not near anything and takes a long time to get to.  I actually worry a bit about the dialect as well, as some Kyushu dialects can be unintelligible to even native speakers.  I'm not sure where they speak like that, but I know its somewhere in Kyushu.

I was also told that it's no where near as nice as Hiroshima in terms of monuments, so I decided to skip on it.
