This guy is inspired by Gorsheg the Balladeer found in this Thread: http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=28505.0And is intended to compliment his abilities. Geshrog the [name pending] Legendary Creature - Dwarf The first spell you play each turn costs less if it is legendary. 1/1 As for the name, I was tring to think of something that would embody inspiration, or celebration. Like a big parade before the comming of a hero or awsome weapon. You guys seem to be good with vocab so I'll leave it up to you to name this guy. === Current Wording ==== Emegar the Rhapsodist
{R} Legendary Creature - Dwarf Legendary Spells cost you Less to play. 1/1

You need a name not so easily confused with the other card.

Actually, I just took the reciprical of the other card to come up with the name.
Gorsheg -> Geshrog. (keeping the "Sh" as a single letter). I guess it was unfortunate the that it started and ended with "G."
Any Suggestions?

Suggested name: Emegar the Dramatist or Emegar the Rhapsodist
Is it really necessary that she discount only the first legendary spell? Obviously, legendary spells can be rather powerful, but a deck packing enough legendary spells to make a card that discounts them worthwhile is probably going to lack a focused gameplan. (At least, the focus will probably not be a clear, repeatable strategy.) I've never seen a "Legend deck" that was tremendously good, so I would actually really get behind a creature that would really encourage people to create "Legend decks."

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

That was the general theory. Make an insentive to build a legend deck that wasn't too terrible and inconsistant. Maybe tack on a second "Heartstone" -esq ability? Activated abilites of legendary cards cost less to play, This cannot reduce the mana cost of an ability to less than Something like that? Possibly too strong? Play jitte for free, eqiup for ? Mindslaver for then ? Or maybe tack this ability onto a 3rd Legendary Dwarf ?

I'm just wondering why this helps out only if the first spell you cast is legendary and only for the first spell. Why not just say, "Legendary spells you play cost less to play."

Well the original idea was to make the card complimentary to the Balladeer. In flavor of, the balladeer mourns the end of a certain legend, where This guy, celebrates the arrival. Sorta a "Start and End" (or Rise and Fall) Dichotomy concept between the two cards.
Like you said, I think it would be great if these two cards inspired Legend decks, and stayed in your flavor of "Artistic" Red.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

You can already play a fourth turn dragon quite easily with the planeshift familiars.
