I have a mono red ponza deck that needs some improvement. (UNPOWERED)

here is my current decklist:

4   Avalanche Riders
3   Fireslinger
4   Jackal Pup
2   Masticore
4   Mogg Fanatic

3   Hammer of Bogardan
4   Lightning Bolt
4   Pillage
4   Stone Rain

1   Chrome Mox
4   Cursed Scroll
1   Lotus Petal
1   Sol Ring

1   Ancient Tomb
3   Mishra's Factory
14   Mountain
1   Strip Mine
2   Wasteland

just to get it out of the way, i know this deck isnt viable in vintage tournaments. it is a casual deck of vintage format. to those who think it looks familiar, this deck is based on 1999 World Championship Deck by Mark LePine. I updated it by changing some cards with rather superior counterparts.

I replaced shock with lightning bolt, ghitu encampment with mishra's factory, 1 ancient tomb with a sol ring, and added a chrome mox and a lotus petal. I chose fireslinger over grim lavamancer because it could fry birds of paradise earlier without the "2 cards in graveyard" restriction. im looking for more improvements without using the power nine.

i need to be able to destroy lands on turn 2, dont know how else to do this without the power 9. i use sol ring, ancient tomb, lotus petal, and chrome mox. i get screwed sometimes too with 2 colorless mana, 1 red, and a pillage (1RR).  Sad

i have trouble when going against goblins, and counter-heavy control decks.

Any suggestions would be great! would love it if this deck could go faster. also, please tell me which cards to replace when suggesting.

i know this deck has no chance in any vintage tournament. it is a casual deck of vintage format.

Moved to casual.

cryoclasm could be an option if you play a lot of duals or blue/whitedecks

Cursed scroll is great in Sligh decks, because your hand is empty turn 3 or 4, in this deck, the CS wont do that much. Land destruction isnt that good anymore because of Misdirections, and artifact mana.  I dont know where to begin with this deck, but here is what I run ;

4 Lightning bolt
4 chain lightning
4 incinerate
4 Grim lavamancer
4 mogg fanatic
4 jackal pup
4 ball lightning ( only good in a meta WITHOUT mana drains)
2 Mox Monkeys ( I am tired, and I cant remember the real name atm)
8 fetch lands
8 mountains
4 wastelands
1 sol ring
1 strip mine

some other stuff I cant think of now.

I know you wanted to have land destruction, but red just doesnt have what it takes imo. Black is a lot better for Land destruction, with the help of sinkhole and dark rituals, and duress, black is good.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)
