An OK turnout of 30 players for this latest edition of New Jersey tournaments.  Good to see some from out of state making the trip (Travis, Ray, the PA folks).  Disappointing to see those who promised not to disappearing to judge the PTQ anyway.  Bit warm in the venue owing to no AC or fans, thankfully (?) the weather was foul and not too sunny, and there was cold soda and beer going...

Lots of EDH and Skittles being played, but nothing else formalised into a side event.

Prizes went to top 2, top 8 players opted for Mox Jet plus Bazaar over Time Walk plus some store credit.

Results after Swiss:

T8:
Michael Schnier (Staxless Stax - evidently better handled than Ray) bt Travis Laplante (Mizzium Vault)
Michael H (Gifts) bt Seth Levy (Gifts)
AJ (UR Fish) bt Bernie Parisi (Grim Long)
Kevin Folinuis (IT) bt John Blake (Confidant Tog)

T4:
Michael Schnier bt Kevin Folinus (in one of the slowest matches I've ever seen...)
AJ beat Michael H (quite quickly)

Final:
AJ (Mox Jet) bt Michael Schnier (Bazaar)

Congrats to all.  Have a blast at Waterbury, see you all after the summer.

I likie to think everyone who came along had a good time, it was good natured, nothing got stolen and we even managed to print the pairings without incident each round, shame about the results entry while I picked up the pizza.

AJ has been quietly winning for quite sometime, with U/R fish. I am suprised no one has been picking up on him. I really would like to see his list, and his SB to beat Staxless Stax in the finals.

I am sure John Blake's deck is the usual 25 draw spells pile.

Possibly.  But it didn't seem to draw land on all that regular a basis...

I played Michael H (Gifts) in the semi finals. I Extracted him and found he was playing with 4 main deck Dark Confidant and Tinker/Sundering Titan over colossus. I assume because of the confidants. He also had a Tendrils in the main along with the Burning Wish. Besides that the rest of the list seemed fairly standard. If I remember correctly it was 4 Merchant Scrolls not a Thirst list.

Oh...Simon, Bernie was playing Grim Long not IT.
