Another flavor-based creation from me.  I kinda get the feeling it might be similar to something already printed but I'm not sure.  My wording also needs help I think.

Glorious Death {R} {R}
Instant

Play Glorious Death only during your Combat phase, before the Combat Damage step.
As an additional cost to play Glorious Death, sacrifice an attacking creature you control.
Untap target attacking creature you control and remove it from combat.  Destroy target creature that was blocking that creature.

Go.  Now.

A combat trick that makes a shitty situation less bad.  If you play it well, you lose 1 creature instead of 2, and kill 1 creature instead of 0 (it's still a 1 for 2 though).  It can also be a nice tempo swing.  It's existence also makes blocking descisions a little more interesting when someone has RR up.  I think it's kind of cool.  But maybe bad.  Should it be destroy all creatures that were blocking the creature you untap, or does that make it potentially too juicy?  I don't play formats with creatures so I have no clue.

Any reason you designed this card?

limited? constructed?

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

From a flavour point of view why does a creature that was not blocked (or was blocked by something else) get to blow itself up and kill a blocker it wasn't even fighting?

Couldn't you just mirror Righteousness and say

'Target attacking blocked creature gains +7/+7 until end of turn. Sacrifice that creature at end of combat.'

Bloodlust does much the same thing but can also pump unblocked creatures so the massive pump of Righteousness seems in order due to the CC and narrowness of the card. Silly with Ball Lightning of course.

I'm having a hard time "getting" the flavor of this card. If this is a flavor card, what is its flavor? What does this card represent?

I like "Target blocked (attacking is redundant) creature gains +7/+7 until end of turn." except for its interaction with trample. Defiant Elf!

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.

Trample is a problem (hey, I spotted Ball Lightning) but adding a clause to remove Trample is rather ugly.

I guess we could link the Death and the glorious effect more:

'Sacrifice target blocked creature: destroy all creatures blocking that creature'

The only thing against that is that Red traditionally deals damage rather than destroying. However

'Sacrifice target blocked creature: deal damage to all blocking creatures equal to their toughness'

seems somewhat random. It would however allow the aforementioned Ball Lightning to Trample on through after its demise.

It's supposed to mirror the classic cheesy action film scene where the one guy stays behind to fight a hopeless battle so that everyone else can run away.  I guess that doesn't come across to well.

How about:

Glorious Death {1} {R}
Instant

As an additional cost to play Glorious Death, sacrifice a creature.
Untap and remove from combat target creature you control.
Tap all creatures blocking target creature, and Glorious Death Death deals {X} damage divided evenly, rounded down,
to all creatures tapped in this way, where {X} is equal to the power of the sacrificed creature.
Go.  Now.

I changed the CC because its now like  fling, but it can't target a player.  I dont know whether it should also target the creature being dealt damage.  I added the tap ability based upon flavor.

I think they already did this on Blaze of Glory and again on Valor Made Real.
