great tournement... I still cant believe I lost to goblins... I will never forgive myself for that...

In my defence the guy won both games on turn 3...

Game 1 he dazed first turn ancestral then on his turn went lackey/siegegang...

Game 2 he 2x FoW'ed a game ending timetwister... then played a lackey... sigh...

Good tourney again!

Thanks Dan,

Kyle L.

That Goblins list is hot. Just imagine sometimes the control roll screws things up. Hope to hear something from him! Any thoughts on the deck?

It was an offbeat Goblins list to be sure - an interesting blend.

I was surprised that Steve ran Mox Diamond and Chrome Mox as well. The list says "9 Mox, Crypt, Vault", so I assume that includes 7 Moxen, Mana Crypt, and Mana Vault.

On a related note, players need to make it clear which cards they're playing on their deck sheet by using the full name of the card, not "4x Drain, 4x FoW, 4x BS, 1x DarksteelDude". The scrawled abbreviations that require knowledge of the format to decipher are unacceptable. We'll be enforcing this more carefully in the future. Thank you to everyone who took the time and effort to print their lists and write clearly and completely. Very Happy

And thanks again to everyone who came. Everyone I've talked with had a great time. Looking forward to the next one!

Yes, that Goblins build was very interesting, I like it a lot
In the round 1, game 1, match of the top 8 my Oath of Druids met 2x Force of Will with Lackey->Siege-Gang following the next turn

Game two I mulled to four...

I lost to the goblins list in top four.

I'm not one to make excuses, but I mull to five, kept a no land hand, and he goes ancestral lackey next turn siege-gang.

Game two I pulled out of my ass, after bouncing my mana crypt twice so I didn't die to it.

Game three I had him on the ropes with razormane, and he rips matron, goes matron matron kiki, copy matron for siege-gang.

Well, I know the goblins player doesnt read the TMD for a fact. However, I think we just wrote his entire top 8 report for him... 3 players... 3 players getting screwed... w/him countering something then next turn lackey into siegegang... Not bad... lol...

The kid who won first place plays YouGiO a lot, baerly plays magic, has only been to 3 small tournaments, and top 8ed in all three. What the hell?! I should have never scooped to Kyle(team don't care). I thought for sure Pitch could destroy this T8 without stax.

All and all it was reassuring to see manadrains in new england as always.

What the hell?!

     Hooray for Goblins!
Thank you Dan for hosting such a good tourney!
Everyone had very good time!

Why are people surprised that a solid UR Goblins list
took 1st? MonoBlue Fish won last time.
Seriously, let's show the 'non-11 indestructible creature' decks
some respect.

Perhaps Hadley is back on the tech scene Rolling Eyes

...or perhaps black lotus and sol ring are conspicuously missing from my list.

Good times at this thing, Myriad has come a long way and continues to improve the way they run tourneys.  However, don't expect a marked increase in the quality of my script.

update:

Chris Bright is playing, card for card, my updated list of a deck I created.  Shouldn't it be called Meandeck Ichorid?  John Runyan took my list and changed less than 4 cards.

It's not fair - everyone is using my lists with the slightest variation.... where is the credit....

This deck is actually called Meandeck Hadley Thirst Gifts/Izzet Control (minus the Izzet)
