War Protester
{W}
Creature -- Giant
5/5
~This~ can't attack or block.

Interesting as a wtf-rare like One With Nothing. Not sure what it does, or what it can do, but it's something to give the players and let them figure out.

Gentle Giant
{W}
Creature -- Giant

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.

I'm confused with the flavor; why is this a 5/5?  Mechanically, it's interesting, but the flavor is contradictory.

Hmm i was actually thinking of something like this the other day...something like:

When *this* attacks put three peace counters on it.
*this* can't attack or block if it has a peace counter on it.
At the beginning of your upkeep remove a peace counter from *This*.

A cheap, powerful, sacrificial lamb maybe? I don't see what else it could be good for.

Bait for stuff like Alter of Dementia, Bloodshot Cyclops, and Call for Blood.

Because it's a huge freaking Giant (or Angel -- Flying?!? -- or Dragon or something else big). It could really kick some ass if it wanted to, but it chooses not to fight. I'm going to go with Angel, now, actually, for flavor, and because giving flying to a creature that can't possibly use it tweaks my sense of humor in a positive way.

Reminds me of Vigean Hydropon.

I like Giant better.  I just wasn't getting the flavor completely from the Creature type.  Now I'm picturing a giant with a a fuzzy sweater and a giant club with ribbons on it.  This could have some awesome flavor text.

How about "Gentle Giant" for the name?

That MaRo had the audacity to taint the good name of the Rakdos by including a justification for HoFLong in their article.

Gentle Giant is great.

It does feel a little like Vigean Hydropon, but it's different because Vigean Hydropon has an obvious use and this is more of a puzzle for Johnnies to figure out. It's great with effects that care about power, like Greater Good, or Arena effects.

I still wish I could give it a combat-related ability for humor, but that would detract from the card.

I think that this card should read "Defender, ~this~ cannot block" instead ofhow you wrote it. That way it combos with rolling boulders, and its a much cuter wording.

Hydropon has "cannot attack or block" and so does Pacifism.

But Mark Rosewater said on one of his articles that he pushed really hard ot get hydropon to have the text I proposed, and they decided against it. I just feel that this text is far cooler, and given another card that could potentially have this text, that we take the opportunity.

"Cannot attack or block." is more elegant.

Also, I want players to be more creative than Wakestone Gargoyle (or is that a positive interaction?). Besides, Rolling Stones won't work, as it only affects Walls.

How aout Pacifist Giant for the name? Given the use of the word in magic, "Pacifist" seems like the perfect way to describe a creature who doesn't want to attack or block

Gentle Giant was perfect, go with that. Make some flavor text where he talks about farming.

True mastery of war means avoiding it

The best castles are not often attacked. Likewise giants.

Run by me if you like, I might not hit you

And I thought Orkks were useless!!

The ability to kill does not confer the right to kill
