I am the female who played a combination of pitchlong and grimlong and dominated everyone. Here's a tourney report:

Match 1: Mono Blue Control
Game 1: I play first, combo out to tendrils for 18 life.
He drops an Island, says go.
He drops a turn two I tinker out a DSC.
He attempts to rebuild, I force it. He scoops.

Game 2: I'm on the draw. No mana sources, mull to 6.
He drops an island and a mana crypt.
I ancestral myself, draw into gas (mox sapphire, polluted delta, rit). I drop a crypt and mox, brainstorm, combo out through tutors).

Match: 2-0
Day 1-0

Match 2: Worldgorger Dragon
Game 1: Jacob plays first, drops a bazaar, says go.
I drop a polluted delta, sac for a U cc sea, drop a sapphire (brainstorm and vamp tutor in hand).
Turn 2 he drops a land and mox, bazaars and drops a dragon and other key pieces. Animate Dead. I lose.

Game 2: I have a decent draw - I drop a delta, sac for a Sea, drop a crypt, tinker DSC. He forces, I force back.
He drops a land, says go.
I drop a strand, get a Sea, demonic tutor for a force. Swing, he attempts to hurkyl's recall. I force. He loses.

Game 3: He plays first, drops a land. Ancestrals himself.
I drop a land, set to combo out next turn with no force backup.
Turn 2 he drops a bazaar and combos out bazaaring dragon into the yard.

Match: 2-1
Day: 1-1

Match 3: Worldgorger Dragon
Game 1: I am on the play, turn one vamp tutor using a sea, sac lotus for blue, brainstorm, drop a vault using a blue, tinker DSC. No force backup.
He drops a sea, pearl. says go.
I swing, a rit and will in hand.
He loses.
Game 2: I turn 2 combo out forcing his force for my grim tutor. Tendrils ftw

Match: 2-0
Day: 2-1

Match 4: Ubastax against Robert Vroman
Game 1: I turn one combo out.

Game 2: He drops a null rod turn one. I lack the gas (moxen in hand, etc) and he secures the board with smokestack and uba mask.

Game 3: I drop a delta and a pearl. He drops null rod. I respond by taping pearl, sacing delta for a sea. i hurykls him and combo out turn 2 will yawg's will, rits, and demonic tutoring.

Match: 2-1
Day: 3-1

Cut into Top 8 without any problems

Match 5: Worldgorger
Playing against same opponent that I lost to earlier Match 2.

Game 1: He plays first, drops a bazaar. I turn around with a turn one kill for 26 using bargain.

Game 2: I mull to 4, drawing no gas. He wins turn 3.

Game 3: He drops a land, I have force backup, he throws dragon into the yard with a bazaar turn 2. I drop a crypt, pop it. Next turn I combo out using timetwister as gas.

Match: 2-1
Day: 4-1

Match 6: Semifinals
Grim/Pitch Long against Polish
Game 1: He plays first, I am uneasy about demonic consultating and he combos out, forcing my attempt to turn two grim tutor.

Game 2: I combo out turn 3, crypting him and tutoring for forces. He loses.

Game 3: He keeps a horrible hand I'm told and brainstorms using a petal into absolutely nothing. He curses. He strips out my sea and we go back and forth for 3 turns drawing a card and saying go. I brainstorm, I have a petal, rit, cabal, cabal, DSC, 2 forces, chain of vapor, and windfall in hand. put back the windfall then chain, start my turn, draw the windfall. drop and sac the petal for black, rit, cabal w./ threshold, cabal again, tap 2 seas - play the DSC, force his force leaving a force in my hand. he draws a card says go. i swing, he goes to 9, i have force and windfall back . i say go. he draws says "hmmm this might work" and brainstorms with a mox. i let him, he then taps a sea to rit, i counter the rit, he scoops.

Match: 2-1
Day 5-1

Match 7: Split with a guy on Vroman's team playing Ubastax. I get the Mox Jet he gets the volcs and cash.

1)  How many people were at the tournament?
2)  What was your list that you ran?
3)  Dominating boys hardily all day must have made you feel quite good.  Were there any funny stories involving guys getting beat by a girl, playing combo nonetheless?

She's a girl, not a grasshopper, and it's shockingly possible for women to play a good game of magic. Ignorant and sexist "beat by a girl" comments will not be tolerated. "Pro" is short for "Professional", so it'd be nice to act like pros instead of schoolkids.

That's a heck of a lot of Dragon in your environment. 4 rounds, meaning that there were what, <16?

It looks like a lot of games were won by TinkerDSC. Thoughts on that?

What the hell? Are you trying to catch the first train off TMD? This isn't how we operate. Good lord, show some class.

Please just use the Report a Post function next time. Thanks.

I believe there were 25 people for this tournament. For some reason, they ran this and a 22 person legacy event with only 4 rounds of swiss. Go figure.

Sure, I'm female. Make jokes about it. Enjoy yourself. Combo is most likely one of the most difficult decks to play, according to many many people. I taught myself. So whatever....

Anyway, I have a decklist somewhere, I'm slowly evolving it more towards pitchlong atm. TinkerDSC won a few of the matchups, mostly the dragon combos since they didn't seem to have an answer. Overall, the important matches were won with the Tendrils combo, I feel.

Sorry for the idiots.

There was a lot of Dragon, though.  I'm thinking of the typical sideboard for Pitch, and I'm wondering if there's any cards that could be added to hate versus it.

If you think dragon will show in force, you can use ray of revelation, but with the standar Sb (2chains of vapor+1one of the maindeck) and the fows (even in sb or maindeck) uses to be enought to beat it.

Based on her report it looks like she was running a 2 color manabase, so Ray of Revelation is not really an option.

Chain of Vapor is vicious against Dragon because not only does it RFG all their permanents if they try to animate a Dragon, but it also Bounces a DSC/Sundering Titan which is frequently their backup win condition.

Bingo. Definitely a 2 color mana base, thus a maindeck Chain of Vapor was run. =)
