Hey all, I've seen quite a few attempts at this deck and I feel it's something that could be done very efficiently. Anyway, here is my current list:

Mana Base:
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Diamond
1 Chrome Mox
1 Lotus Petal
1 Sol Ring
1 Tolarian Academy
4 Polluted Delta
4 Underground Sea
4 Swamp
4 Island

Disruption:
4 Bottomless Pit
4 Mana Leak
4 Hymn To Tourach
4 Duress

Tutor/Draw:
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
4 Brainstorm
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Tinker

Mana Acceleration:
4 Dark Ritual

Creature Prevention:
3 Ensnaring Bridge

The Kill:
4 The Rack

Other:
1 Yawgmoth's Will

So there it is, time for card explanations.

Chrome Mox and Mox Diamond - Even if these are mana at card DISadvantage, they have a nic synergy with Ensnaring Bridge, which is very useful.
Bottomless Pit - While this is certainly not the most amazing discard card ever it means I can sustain the damage from The Rack.
Ensnaring Bridge - I drop my hand very fast, so this is good at stopping creatures.

I think the other cards speak for themselves. The deck is based on disrupting your opponent's hand so much that they can't do anything, and then you counter what does get through. Due to The Rack's nature it works very efficiently along side the disruption in the deck, so I haven't had to build the deck to include any cards that are specifically for The Rack other than Bottomless Pit.

The mana base, while being shut off quite heavily by Chalice@0, is actually quite stable, only 5 of my lands are Wasteable, I only run 4 fetches, and a very safe 8 basics. I am mainly dependant on black mana, but I can usually get this very easily and have enough disruption to hold the board until I get the BB I need for Hymn and Pit. I only ever need one blue mana, so Brainstorm, Recall, Tinker and Mana Leak are nearly always available.

Anyways, that's it, help would be really appreciated! Thanks guys!

You have too many lands that don't produce black mana.

If I go first and drop Chalice for 1, you scoop.

Consider elaborating your thoughts and expanding your win conditions.

What would you consider to be a good defense against Chalice? I may add Force of Will, what about Echoing Truth?

If you are worried about getting black mana you could always use a few more fetches and less Islands, or use those Ravnica Underground Seas (Watery Grave). I like this deck, I used to use it back in the day. My build was Mono Black because I was too dumb to play Blue, so I chose to use things like Nantuko Shade and Hyppies.

I see a ton of Aggro, so I feel that this deck is worth playing again, the only thing I would change in this meta is 4x Ensnaring Bridge.

Was that serious or just mocking me? Very Happy It sounded serious until you mentioned having 4x Ensnaring Bridge. By the way, I'm fine for black mana, I've not had any problems yet.

Actually, if he was just attaacking with Hippies and Shades, then Bridge isn't bad, you just need to keep two cards in hand.  Smile

Is blue necessary in this deck?  It would fix any mana problems you might encounter.  In addition there are other cards that could supplement the lack of BS such as Dark Confident.  I also see Chalice as a problem considering black doesn't have any reactive threats to artifacts.
I'm throwing ideas out here but you could look at playing a couple/few cabal rituals and playing a ToA.  It could be a great way of gaining life and finishing off an opponent.  Another card that I don't see played much but may find use in a build like this is Funeral Charm.  It can ping Welders and Confidents as well as serve as hand disruption at instant speed.  It may be a great utility card.  It's worth testing plus it's cheap.

ToA
Hippies
Confidents
Rack

It should be enough to finish an oppenent off and disrupt them enough to see the game swing in your favor.

well i would wait to Pump my Shades after I declared them as attackers, so as xycsoscyx said, I only needed to keep two cards at hand each turn, which isnt hard. I dont think I used 4 Bridges, but I do remember using 2-3 because they shut off my friends with their wierd Stompy decks that relied on Silvos, Rogue Elemental to win. I tried this list again for like 5 games on MWS and I realized I dont really like it, it's just too different from every other deck I play.

I dont think cutting blue would be bad because not only will it give you a more stable mana base but it will allow you to use Chains of Mephistopheles. The card annoys control players out of their minds from my experience. Besides, the only blue you use is like Ancestral, Bstorm, and Mana Leaks.
