The reason I particularly want to run Desire is that Boros Deck Wins is most likely the best deck again in the PTQ season, and Familiar is just asking to eat a Helix a lot.  With Desire in the current (standard) configuration, I can't possibly win unless I won before the Big Turn happens - BUT, if you're looking to win small around Sunscape Familiar then I forsee some problems.

If you're competent enough, you're going to win with or without Mind's Desire.  The control matchup's that good.

Let's have a little more civility and a little less antagonism in this discussion, please.

Where is the claim that Boros Deck Wins is tops comming from?  I'm not being antogonistic, but online it would appear that the UW and UR TRON decks are completely dominating the format.  Has Boros been doing well in the premier events lately, or is this claim being made based on intuition?

I wouldn't pay so much attention to what goes on in the online metagame, as the scarcity of high-demand Invasion block rares heavily skews peoples' deck choices.

The Boros decks have gotten popular again mostly because of Tron, especially the versions with maindeck Molten Rain and Dwarven Blastminers in the side.  The deck seems to be one of tron's hardest matchups, since turn 1 lions, turn 2 guy, turn 3 LD is really hard for them to stabilize against.

That, and in the PTQ season the best deck was actually Boros despite Tog and Scepter/Chant for most of the season being favorable against the Red/White Legion AND Ichorid showing up at the end.
