Hello evreyone Smile
i got a strange idea today for a new mechanic (or wat is the right name for it (i'm from holland sorry Smile)

evreyone know's the card

Angel of Despair 3WWBB
Flying
When Angel of Despair comes into play, destroy target permanent.

and the card

Vindicate 1WB
destroy target permanent.

when i saw the angel and vindicate next to each other in the map it got me thinking that there is a vindicate effect in angel of despair. (before you all go like: no shit sherlock. hear me out)
i came to the idea of a new mechanic. (its a bit hard to explain for me cuz the language thing but i do my best)
just taking angel of despair and vindicate as a sample you will get this as a card

_____________________________ _____________________________ _____________________________ _____________________________ ___
Angel of Vindicate 3WWBB
Flying
When Angel of Despair comes into play, destroy target permanent. (like the angel)

you may pay 2WB to play Angel of Vindicate with out his comes into play effect.

you may pay 1WB to play Angel of Vindicate only for it's comes into play effect. (use this ability only when you could play a sorcery) (like vindicate)
_____________________________ _____________________________ _____________________________ _____________________________ ___

the card exact like this is a bit overpowerd but i hope you get the idea.

i hope you think its a nice mechanic as well

P.S.
sorry for all my error's i'm not a master in typing english Smile

Wizards just did the second one in Ravnica (looking at what mana was paid and burying the critter if condition not met)
The first one could be done using Kicker. For some reason, there are several vocal critics of Kicker here at TMD CCF.

Angel of Vindicate 1WB
Flying
When Angel of Vindicate comes into play, destroy it and destroy target permanent.
Kicker 1: Instead do not destroy Angel of Vindicate
Kicker 1WB: Instead do not destroy Angel of Vindicate and destroy target permanent.

Slightly different but fairly close to what you suggested. (you get an Angel albeit a short-lived one for 3 mana)

What comes to mind is Entwine for split cards Smile. I wonder if there's any contortion of the card face that can be used to accomodate this sort of idea.

As far as I can tell, we want a card that can be a creature or a spell, or both, at the option of the caster. There are a number of ways to do this within current rules, with kicker, entwine and channel (or a functionally similar activated ability) probably the easiest to work with.

Entwine:

Angel of Vindicate
Sorcery
3WB
Choose one - Destroy target permanent; or put a 4/4 black and white Angel creature token with flying into play.
Entwine WB

Kicker:

Angel of Vindicate
2WB
Creature - Angel
4/4
Kicker 1 and/or WB
Flying

When Angel of Vindicate comes into play, you may destroy target permanent. If you do, sacrifice Angel of Vindicate unless the WB kicker cost was paid.
At end of turn, sacrifice Angel of Vindicate unless the 1 kicker cost was paid.

Channel (with a functionally similar activated ability):

Angel of Vindicate
3WWBB
Creature - Angel
4/4
When Angel of Vindicate comes into play, if you played it from your hand, destroy target permanent.
Channel- 2WB, Discard Angel of Vindicate: Destroy target permanent. You may play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery.
3WB: Put Angel of Vindicate into play. Play this ability only if Angel of Vindicate is in your hand, and only any time you could play a Sorcery.

Angel of Vindicate is likely just a name placeholder but...

Vindictive Angel
Angel of Vindication

are both more gramatically correct names.

Angel of Vindication would be fine, but vindictive isn't used to refer to vindication (although Vindictive Angel would still work as a name).

Double kicker is frowns.  I'd go with the first version or the second if we got rid of the {1} kicker.  Otherwise you're trying to do way too much with one card.

Remembering that the point of these was to give a player their choice of creature, effect or both, so they're going to be busy no matter how you do it. Also, Battlemages and Volvers disagree with the notion that double kicker is bad.
