I had thought that I was going to fly back to Indiana on January 6. However, looking at my email again, it seems I'm returning January 7. This means that, unless something very strange happens, I should be able to get to this before returning to the cornfields of the midwest. I'm really looking forward to this!

Just a reminder that our updated tournament structure includes 15 proxies with your $25 entry and allows for a faster progression of prizes (as noted in the prize list). As always with our events, the more players, the more prizes and the merrier the competition.
Begin the new year on the right foot by attending another great Myriad Games Vintage tournament. If you haven't been here before, join us and find out what you've been missing. We'll be continuing our New Player Bonus with this event. If this is your first Myriad Games tournament, you'll receive a complimentary Booster Pack!
We'll also be giving away prizes for Best Deck Name, so get your thinking caps on and look forward to a great day of entertainment.
Happy New Year!

Entry: $25.00
Prizes: 1st Place: Mox (Unlimited)* 2nd, 3rd, and 4th: Based on Attendance 5th - 8th: Based on Attendance
This event should be awesome and I'm attending no matter what, but i'd like to point out that prize structure is extremely vague considering the recent increase in entry fee. I know you base everything on attendance, but on the old announcement threads you almost always listed what type of mox it was and usually gave rough estimates for 2nd-4th prizes. I don't think it's unreasonable to request a little more info on prizes from a player standpoint, especially considering the entry fee increase. With that said, these tourneys are generally awesome and I'm looking forward to this as always. As far as pre-registering goes, can I just notify by posting on this thread that I'll be there without having to call? If so please put me on the pre-reg list. This should be a great pre-cursor tourney to Stratford-bury. See you then - Dave Feinstein

*1st place: Mox Emerald at 20 players, Mox Pearl at 24 players, Mox Ruby at 28 players, and Mox Sapphire at 32 players. Prizes for 2nd – 8th places will also be based on attendance. 2nd place is generally about 1/3 - 1/4 of 1st place - a Mana Drain or something similar. 3rd and 4th place are generally about 1/3 - 1/4 of 2nd place. 5th - 8th places generally receive 3+ booster packs. All the prizes scale based on attendance, and we always award some prize to the entire Top 8 along with prizes for those who miss the Top 8 on tiebreakers. The Mox makes the prize structure top-heavy as compared with our Standard tournaments where prizes run something like $250 Myriad Money for 1st, $150 for 2nd, $75@ for 3rd and 4th, plus prizes for 5th-8th (at 24 players), but that levels out as we get more players. We also award prizes for Best Deck Name, Preregistration Bonus Dual Land prizes, and of course our signature Myriad Games Mana Cookies for all players. Prize payout value is generally at 95-110% of entry fees including all the prizes. In the past we've assigned specific cards or booster packs to 3rd through 8th place, but we now find it better for the players to simply award Myriad Money and allow you to spend it as you like, since we have a wide variety of Magic singles, supplies, and other games. This takes more time and effort on our part, but we feel that it provides better customized rewards to the players. This prize structure has worked well for us during our 2006 Vintage tournament series and has allowed us to host a Vintage tournament each month. We're always refining and improving our events, so if you have any questions or suggestions, be sure to send them my way. And yes, you may preregister by either posting to this thread, PMing myriadgames, emailing vintage@myriadgames.com, or calling us toll-free at 1-800-459-5516. Preregistration ends at 11:59 PM the night before the tournament, and gets you entered in our Bonus Dual Land drawing!

We have a very healthy number of players preregistered and there's still time to prereg if you haven't. Just give us a call or drop us an email or PM. If there are any particular singles you know you need, you can let us know when you preregister and we'll have them all reserved for you.
I'm working on organizing our selection of Foil, Foreign, Signed, and Otherwise Cool cards so that winners will have a great selection of cards to choose from in addition to our regular stock.

Well, we already have over 30 players preregistered, so if you weren't sure if you wanted to come down, definitely make the trip and help us kick off the Myriad Games 2007 Vintage Series with a bang.
You can still preregister through the end of the night.
Looking forward to tomorrow!

We're well into the Swiss rounds here with 46 players in attendance!
It's a great testing ground for the TMD Open and the results should be up early this coming week.
Thanks to everyone who attended and we'll look forward to another the next great event in our 2007 Vintage Tournament Series on February 10th.

This was a lot of fun! Thanks to Dan and the judges for this.
There were 48 people. Top four split was myself with Dry Slaver, Outlaw with Bomberman, Crossman with Pitch Long, and Charles with Bomberman.
It was really nice to play again and see everyone before I return to indiana tomorrow.
Here is my latest Control Slaver deck. The key to this build is that Thirst for Knowledge was the weak link in the deck. I took notes, and plan to write a report and explain the deck in the near future. Here is my list.
// Lands 3 Flooded Strand 3 Island 1 Library of Alexandria 2 Polluted Delta 1 Tolarian Academy 2 Underground Sea 4 Volcanic Island
// Creatures 2 Goblin Welder 1 Sundering Titan 1 Triskelion
// Spells 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Black Lotus 4 Brainstorm 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Echoing Truth 4 Force of Will 3 Gifts Ungiven 1 Mana Crypt 4 Mana Drain 1 Mana Vault 2 Merchant Scroll 1 Mindslaver 1 Mox Emerald 1 Mox Jet 1 Mox Pearl 1 Mox Ruby 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Mystical Tutor 1 Recoup 1 Sol Ring 1 Thirst for Knowledge 1 Time Walk 1 Tinker 2 Tormod's Crypt 1 Vampiric Tutor 1 Yawgmoth's Will 1 Red Elemental Blast
// Sideboard SB: 3 Empty the Warrens SB: 1 Tendrils of Agony SB: 1 Hurkyl's Recall SB: 2 Lava Dart SB: 4 Leyline of the Void SB: 1 Shattering Spree SB: 1 Red Elemental Blast SB: 2 Trickbind
I'll give a more detailed description of this soon.

And now, mere hours after the completion of this event, the official tournament report has been posted. Check it out here. Thanks again to everyone who attended. Prizes were scaled up to match the number of players as per usual, with first place getting an Ancestral Recall and second place a Bazaar of Baghdad. The prizes for 3rd - 14th were very solid as well. Looking forward to another great event in a little over a month.
