Soldier's Truce
3W
Sorcery
Put a truce counter on each creature.  All creatures gain defender.

I figure you have to put the truce counter on because of memory issues (cf. Sensei Golden-Tail).  This is sort of a cross between Aurification and Wrath of God.  It needs a better name.  The idea for the card came from the story of the Christmas truce.

Edit: I realized I should make it a plural possessive to more effectively convey the idea that the creatures have collectively decided to stop fighting.  I'd like to use some other word that "Soldiers", though, something that conveys that this is a decision made by the rank-and-file, not generals.

Current Wording
Soldiers' Truce
3W
Sorcery
Put a truce counter on each creature.  All creatures gain defender.  (This effect does not end at end of turn.)

This doesn't work the way it wants to.  The only reason creatures with Gold counters on them have defender is because Aurification has a continuous ability saying they do.  If Aurification were to leave play and you countered the "When Aurification leaves play, remove all gold counters from all creatures." trigger, those creatures would still not have defender.  You may be able to have "All creatures in play gain defender. (This change does not last until end of turn.)

They just get the counters as a memory aid, like Sensei Golden-Tail's training counters.  They aren't supposed to do anything on their own.

Does it have to say "in play"?  Doesn't saying "creatures" as opposed to "creature cards" imply that it only affects "creatures in play"?

The wording is fine. Add reminder text: (This effect does not end at end of turn.)

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.
