So there it is:

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/ncaa/07men_bracket.pdf

Welcome to March Madness.

Florida, Ohio State, UNC, and Kansas enter the tournament as the number 1 seed.  Syracuse is oddly absent.    Perhaps most outrageous of all, Florida is the overall number one seed despite Ohio State having the best record and being polled as number 1.

Who's going to the final four?

Anybody attending any of the tourney sites?  I play in the band at Vanderbilt, so I'm flying out on the NCAA's dollar to stay in Sacramento for the rest of the week.  I'll see you guys on Sunday!

As for the brackets, I have Ohio State to win it.  I have Vandy getting beaten in the second round by Washington State.  Of course, we were a 6-seed 3 years ago and upset 3-seeded NC State, so it could happen.  And I hope it does, since I like free vacations.

UCLA, of course.

Wow...I haven't laughed that hard in years.....thanks guys, I needed that.   Very Happy

As for Syracuse, yes, they probably deserved it more than Illinois or Arkansas, but there were other teams more deserving too, like Drexel and a few others.  All of their non-conference games were pretty much patsies (yes, I know Holy Cross lucked into their conference championship, but they're still not good) and all at home at Syracuse.  On top of that, winning 20 games and 10 in conference isn't really all that meaningful - 100 division 1 men's BB schools won 20 games (especially with being able to play 31 and 32 games, up from last year of 29 and 30).  Also 5 of their 10 conference wins came against terrible opponents and they barely won against Cinncinnati, who is awful.

Ever wonder how to figure out the worst team is each year? A hint: it was Iowa last year.

Sidenote: Florida should be the overall 1, since they obliterated Ohio State head-to-head.

True, but they only played 1 time.  And Vanderbilt, a 6-seed, handed UF its first conference loss after a double-digit winning streak.
