Dryad Arbor
Land Creature - Forest Dryad
(Dryad Arbor isn't a spell, it's affected by summoning sickness, and has "{T}: Add {G} to your mana pool".)
Dryad Arbor is green.

Duplicant {6}
Artifact Creature - Shapeshifter
Imprint - When Duplicant comes into play, you may remove target nontoken creature from the game.

As long as a creature card is imprinted on Duplicant, Duplicant has that card's power, toughness, and creature type. It's still a Shapeshifter.

------------------------

You control Dryad Arbor, I play Duplicant and imprint it ....  this is differant from just Duping a Forest that is animated by the Green Spellbomb or living lands because of the "As long as a creature card is imprnted" clause.

Is Duplicant a Forest?
Is Duplicant considered a Land?
Can Duplicant tap for {G}?
High level question: Is Forest now a creature type?

Forest is not a creature type, nor is Land.

Land is a type, as compared to creature type, which is a subtype.

So it's a 1/1 Artifact Creature - Dryad Shapeshifter without the T: add G ability.

It looks like a Land Creature - Forest Dryad to me.  As in "Forest" in the creature type.  While obviously Duplicant wont get to tap for green (normally), it SEEMS like its a Forest Shapeshifter Dryad!

More explanation please?  (Someone usually posts FAQ's for each set, but they have been absent last few sets)

Forest is a land subtype and Dryad is a creature subtype. When a card has multiple types and one or more subtypes, each subtype goes with the appropriate type.

Quote from: The Comprehensive Rules
205.3e If a card with multiple types has one or more subtypes, each subtype is correlated to its appropriate type.
Example: Dryad Arbor’s type line says “Land Creature — Forest Dryad.” Forest is a land type, and Dryad is a creature type.

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.

I had this very same problem.  "Creature type" is poorly worded.

Quote
Creature Type: Creatures and tribals share the same set of subtypes. These subtypes are always a single word and are listed after a long dash: "Creature - Human Soldier," "Artifact Creature - Golem," and so on. These subtypes are also called creature types.  The list of creature types, updated through the Future Sight set, is as follows: Abomination, Advisor, Aladdin, Albatross, Alchemist, ...
Duplicant only copies creature subtypes, and Dryad Arbor has the creature subtype "Dryad".

Make more sense now?

All cleared up, thanks!
