[Announcement] ELD's Mox Tournament V May 19th - Somerset, MA

I am pleased to announce the date for my fifth Mox Tournament.  At my last event, 33 of New England's best battled it out for swag and bragging rights.  The finals saw Fish and Sullivan Solution splitting the lions share of the prizes.  The Top 8 featured 7 different decks and some innovative decklists.  This is the final hurrah before Future Sight shakes everything up.  The players have spoken, and they demand Futures Sight be legal for this event.   How will Future Sight shake things up? Will Ichorid actually get played now?  Will Street Wraith show up in every deck?  Will the Pacts make combo unstopable?  What decks will emerge to beat this new metagame?  All these questions will be answered on May 19th. 

First place prize will be a Mox Emerald.

Prizes (based on 33 people - everything but the Mox Emerald will be adjusted based on attendance)
1st Place - UL Mox Emerald
2nd Place – Playset of 4x Force of Will - NM
3rd Place – Beta Demonic Tutor
4th Place – Playset of 4x Foil FNM Brainstorm
5th-8th Choice of Foil Darksteel Colossus, Foil Extripate, Foil Tormod's Crypt, or FBB Null Rod

I am going to give away the Mox Emerald regardless of attendance.  Other places will be adjusted down if there are less than 33 players.  Prizes will be adjusted up if we have more than 33.  100% of the entry fees will be put towards the prizes.  That's what to expect out of all of my tournaments.  With my last event getting 33 players, It is very likely that I will be able to increase the prize structure due to attendance. 

A Limited Edition hand-made Mox Emerald Proxy will be given to every participant.  These proxies will not count towards your proxy count for all my future events.  I will only be making 45 of these.  These are the proxies I have made so far.




Pre-registration enters you in a drawing for a free Dual Land.  E-mail EricELD@comcast.net to pre-register.  You do not pay until the day of the event, this is just to help with estimating the attendance.

Cost
$20 for up to 10 proxies.  Additional proxies at $1 each. The Proxy Power from my previous events does not count towards your proxy count. 

Registration will begin at 11:00.  The tournament will begin promptly at 12 pm.
Swiss rounds based on attendance.  Cut to top 8.

Proxy rules
10 Proxies with up to 5 additional proxies at $1 each (up to 15 total proxies)

I will be buying cards.
      Commons/Uncommons/Lands mixed (at least 10% uncommon) @ $5 per 1000
      Bulk rares @ $0.10 each
      Bulk Foils @ $0.05 each
      Bulk Foil Rares @ $0.25 each
      I'll be buying any and all cards – turn your unwanted cards into cash!

I have finished blanking the proxies.  I'm going to try and show the step by step process of getting these done.  Next up will be the pencil sketch.

I will unfortunately not be able to attend as it's graduation weekend and I work in a hotel in a college town.  Kind of sucks, I wanted to be there.  Maybe next month.

Just an update on the proxy process.  They are all penciled in, and am in the middle of the coloring process.  There has been an evolution in the design, as always.  I'm really happy with the later numbers.  The next scan will be of a completed card, which will be on Friday.  I am out of Welding Jars, so I would appreciate it if people could keep their eyes open for them.  I'll pay for them as if they were junk rares.
