Seeing as how the cheapest hotel rooms in NYC are about $350.00 a night if you reserved them two months ago, it would be much easier on the wallet to avoid having to pay this.  However, I'd still hate to miss the event, since there's no telling when the next World Chamionship will be in North America (let alone in the US).  My intention is to volunteer to judge the event, assuming that I can make some sleeping arrangements relatively soon.

Do any community-minded TMDers either:

1. Live within, say, 30-50 miles of the venue and be willing to put me up for four nights?  I'd be happy to pay a reasonable amount for this service.  I'd need only a flat surface (floors are dandy!) and access to a shower, and possibly also somewhere to park my car for those nights.  Or,

2. plan to go to the event and still have an extra piece of floor space that can be sub-let to me?  Again, I'm more than happy to pay a reasonable share.

If anybody else in the same predicament would like to go to Worlds and has some bright idea about where to sleep, feel free to chime in.

Thanks.
