     I recently got a play set of some very cool holographic Scion of the Ur- Dragon's and I thought it would be great and not to mention fun to make a deck built around him.  Im sure its been tried before but I'm gonna stay away from the Reanimating dragons because I want to be able to take advantage of the Planar Chaos's Dragon cycle with  {R} {2}, {B} {2}, etc.  I came across a card called Celestial Dawn that allows me to play Scion easily.  At first I tried WG with Worldly Tutors and Sterling Groves but it just wasn't competitive and had little protection.  After many more prototypes I finally fell on Black as a support color and its great.  It allows great protection like Duress's, and Vindicates and allows me to discard unwanted dragons through Putrid Imp.  The following is my newest deck which is still in serious need of some help.

BW Scion's Toolbox
(1.5 Legacy Legal)
//Land (21)
2x Ancient Den
3x Godless Shrine
2x Plains
3x Reflecting Pool
4x Scrubland
2x Swamp
1x Vault of Whispers
2x Windswept Heath
2x Bloodstained Mire

//Creatures (13)
1x Dragon Tyrant (Massive Beater tool)
1x Nicol Bolas (Hand Discard tool)
1x Oros, the Avenger (Wrath of God tool)
1x Quicksilver Dragon (StP etc protection tool)
1x Teneb, the Harvester (Reanimation tool)
1x Vorosh, the Hunter (pumps up Scion)
4x Scion of the Ur-Dragon (toolbox utilizer)
3x Putrid Imp (Discards unwanted Dragons)

//Spells (26)
4x Celestail Dawn (allows me to utilize all abilities and allows me to easily play Scion)
4x Duress (disruption)
3x Enlightened Tutor (fetches Artifact Lands, Dawn, EE, etc.)
2x Feldon's Cane (Allows me to recycle my dragons)
3x Gerrard's Verdict (disruption)
4x Vindicate (protection)
4x Infernal Tutor (fetches all and my hand is commonly empty for the Hellbent)
2x Engineered Explosive (great w/ dawn, i can go all the way up to full sunburst)

//SB (in progress)

     The deck basically plays as a proactive control deck until I can get Scion up and Running.  I have many tutors to get pretty much w/ever I need.  My main problem is the lack of draw.  Besides tutoring, I have nothing to cycle through the deck.  I tried Howling Mine but I hated how we both drew 2 and Phyrexian Arena's Damage was to much.  I cant risk running Confidant b/c of the high mana costs.
     After Scion is in play a rarely loose.  The toolbox is great.  I routinely start off by searching for Nicol Bolas and discarding their hand and then using any other  Dragon to take care of the Immediate problem. The decks does pretty well in the casual format and is a hell of a lot of fun to play but it would be great if it could contend w/ some higher level decks.  If you could tell me what you think and if there are some better card choices I'm all ears.

PS. After you use Scion's  {2} mana search ability, can you do it again after he becomes that creature.  It says he becomes a copy but does he keep the search ability even when he is a copy?  Thanks !

At least I can help with the rules question.  You can pay 2, then pay 2 again before the ability resolves.  Then the first use resolves, you search, discard, then shuffle.  The you get a chance to use that dragon's abilities.  Then the 2nd search resolves and you search, discard, and shuffle.

You can stack as many searches as you want, but you have to decide how many before the first resolves.

You might want to look at adding Animate Dead and Bladewing, The Risen.  He's good when you've got alot of dragons in the yard.   Also you might want to swap Putrid imps for Sneak Attack.... its alot more mana, but ultimately a oneshot with Nichol Bolas is pretty savage!
