Welcome to TMD. Please refer to the site rules found here. Firstly, there is plenty of threads dealing with the particular topic that you are inquiring about. Secondly, you need to read over the "Lack of Content" rules that this post violates. Please edit your post to explain why you have selected certain card choices, what trouble matches you have, etc. Also, just give the Vintage Open Forum a run down (this topic is fresh enough that you don't need to use the search function, but you certainly could) and see posts on this very topic so as not to repeat efforts already done.

Thanks,

Z

I have looked around and I can not find out how a basic stax and how a basic fish deck work, so how am I suppose to understand everyones posts about how there modified versions work? Also, how am I suppose to list why cards I chose were in this particular deck that I listed when my question was how the deck operates in general? Can you answer how the stax and fish decks run or provide a link that shows me a post which does? I have even used the search feature. Thanks.

Well simply put.
A basic stax deck works by powering out cards like chalice and trinisphere and tangle wire to "lock" your opponent out of the game until you get active smoke stax plus crucible of worlds to eat away their permanents.
A basic fish deck works by using cheap disruption like null rod force daze stifle to hurt the opponents development. Then using cheap disruptive or udercosted creatures like meddling mage kataki and grunt you beat face till they die.
