Myriad Memoment Challenge!!
----------------------------------

Basic Concept:  Any player who plays in a Myriad Vintage Tournement has the opportunity to pick a single card from the "Momento Binder."  These cards are often nostaligic/iconic cards from older sets, Random junky foils, or foriegn odds and ends.  The basic concept is to build a vintage legal deck from ONLY those cards, and basic lands - and enter a Myriad Vintage Tournement with that deck.

Why:  I don't really have a good answer other than... what else am I going to do with all these momento cards?   Dan has said he would give me a special prize if I do it.

Who else is participaing:  At this point... it's just me.

Who Put you up to this: Umm.... myself basically.  I think it will be fun.  And it would be glorious to actually win a game with it.

Ways to Earn Legitamate Momento Cards
----------------------------------------
> 1 per tournement that I pick as my own
> Anyone can freely give me a card under two conditions
 1) They pick the card (meaning I don't tell them what to take for me)
 2) I do not solicit them to give me the card.  I can't just go around and be like "dude give me your card!!"
> With Dan's approval - If I win a booster pack, I can instead not take the booster, but take another personal pick from the momento book.
> I can trade for a momento card (or multiple momento cards) but ONLY using one of the following forms of currency:
 -- An Old Momento card
-- My One Myriad Games cookie

About the Deck as it Stands today
-------------------------------------
Between Myself, Eric, and Jer (who have freely donated all past and future picks to me) We have 15 Momento Cards!!  Generally speaking in one tournement, I get one, Jer gets one, I enter Liar's dice and trade my pack for one, and trade away my cookie.. thats 3-4 momento cards per tournement.  If I can get even a single donation, or if Eric joins as well - I get lets say 5 momento cards per tournement.  At that rate I will have a ~functional~ deck in about 7 to 10 months.  So I guess the early goal is to perhapse play the momento deck in the last Myriad tournement of 2008.

I have all 16 cards traced back in time though old tournement reports.  So I know they are legit.  I have all my momento cards in a separate binder, and I am starting a personal log of momento cards.  However, I don't want to make the list public.  The reason is I don't want Dan to stock his momento binder any differantly based on my deck.  I have a few possible themes and sub-themes that I might go with... and there are some cards I really hope he puts into the book.  But it would be too easy to just ask for them Wink  so for now the list remains hidden.  However, I will be brining it with me to myriad games for the next tournement to show it off.  I might go through and gold sharpy the date the card was momento'ed and the name of ther person who actually made the initial selection out of the binder.  This way again, I can be sure all the cards are momentos.

oh man, I'm totally in. I even have enough cards for a deck, but you'll have to play islands. Are we sticking to the 4-of rule? I vote no.

This is an excellent idea and perfectly in the spirit of what the Myriad Memento cards are meant for - fun!

Since these decks would be played in our regular Vintage tournaments, they need to follow all regular deck construction guidelines - Vintage legal, four of a kind limit, etc. Obviously in this particular case, no proxies will be used. If anyone else wants to get in on this challenge, just let me know. We randomly stock the binder with assorted cool cards we pick up from collections, so anything goes.

Looking forward to the development of this deck over the course of our 2008 Myriad Games Vintage Series!
