As far as i can tell they just allow you to double-sleeve your cards and aren't being produced anymore.

Double sleeving is extra hott right now, because you don't have to ever remove your cards from the original sleeves in order to resleeve them - so less wear and tear on your baller-ville pimp cards.  You can run the method I saw the older Carp brother use using penny sleeves on the outside of your regular sleeves at more casual events(which works pretty well with the right combination of sleeves) but that's not going to fly at an event that is very strict about sleeving.  This method is really good for being economical.

The perfect fit sleeves go on first and then go into your other sleeve, so they dont really mark your deck.  There was suddenly a huge surge in the demand for these for some reason.   Dont ask me why now, I don't know.

It is because of the Vintage Pimp Thread on SCG, when someone mentions something there, the price seems to go up.

I get these for 4.98 a pack. I fail to understand why anyone would spend anything over 5.00 USD for these sleeves. Yes they are excellent and work very well but contrary to popular belief they are not hard to find nor are they out of production as many people claim. Pro Tip E-Mail KMC for a complete vendor list that sells the sleeves. Not all vendors actually list them on the internet and not all of them jack up the prices like SCG.

Could you be a bit more specific and mention your sources? When I asked KMC all I got was SCG as an option.

That is BS, any one of the sites they list as a vendor on the KMC site carries them. Just contact those stores, many of them have them in stock but do not actually list them online because they sell out in person so fast. Other stores besides those listed as vendors on the KMC site carry them. It really is amazing how much money you can save sending out a few emails.
