Howdy.  I plan on going to that ptq as of right now as well as GP Philly.  Im trying to qualify with RDW.  Played it once at the first Boston PTQ and got 4th.  Another RDW ended up winning that wasn't me =(

This is what I played:

Maindeck:

Creatures
3 Blistering Firecat
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Kird Ape
4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Tin Street Hooligan

Enchantments
4 Seal Of Fire

Instants
4 Incinerate
4 Magma Jet

Sorceries
4 Rift Bolt

Basic Lands
1 Forest
6 Mountain

Lands
2 Barbarian Ring
4 Karplusan Forest
4 Stomping Ground
4 Wooded Foothills

Sideboard:
3 Magus Of The Moon
4 Leyline Of The Void
3 Sulfuric Vortex
3 Ancient Grudge
2 Umezawa's Jitte

I've been actively testing the deck since.  I only had karplusans in there because I lent out my bloodtstained mires :p

I like countryside crusher and sulfuric vortex alot, one of the two will probably find a home over firecat.  There's simply too much Doran and mirror matches for me to keep firecat in.

Your version looks very solid.  The main difference between yours and mine is the black.  Confidants are nice but I'm not sure it's worth splashing here.  Therapies actually don't do alot game 1 since you really don't want to sacrifice your creatures and there's a good chance of missing on the first try because the format is so wide open.

I'm a big fan of terminate... just not sure it's better than magma jet.  Extirpates seem very good in the board as ichorid is on the rise, but black doesn't give you anything else for the board.

Basically it's weighing the pros against the cons of adding black.  Personally I like sticking just to straight red with green splash, but I can see black working out for you.

Good luck with the list.  See you around.

Hey there,
You might want to consider this list as well, it's making a some waves at magic-league.com and seems to be quite good with everyone taking damage from their lands. Also, I think the format is pretty much prepared to deal with Kird Apes and Tarmogoyfs. Shrapnel Blast is just amazing, I really think this deck is very very good right now.

6 Mountain
3 Darksteel Citadel
4 Blinkmoth Nexus
4 Great Furnace
4 Barbarian Ring
4 Blistering Firecat
4 Keldon Marauders
4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Rift Bolt
3 Flames of the Blood Hand
4 Incinerate
4 Magma Jet
4 Shrapnel Blast
4 Shard Volley
4 Lava Spike

SB:
 2 Flaring Pain
1 Flames of the Blood Hand
4 Sulfuric Vortex
4 Tormod's Crypt
4 Pyrostatic Pillar

Anyway, good luck PTQ-ing.
