im looking at potential mana bases for a combo deck, and i am thinking that playing the duals is going to be out of my price / proxy range, so im looking for alternatives that are not Rav block duals (yes, that has been suggested).  Anyway, could forbidden orchard work? cause i mean... its not like the creature matters at all in combo...

Forbidden Orchard has made appearances in Grim Long decks in the past but its mana base was never based around it.

What type of combo deck are you working on? What's the kill? How many colors are involved? If you are working within a price or proxy range then maybe combo isn't the best road to victory. There are no optimal budget combo decks in Vintage. The closest might be 2-Land Belcher for Legacy.

Have you tried using the Vintage Deck Database over on Star City Games to search for decks using certain card(s)?

Both this and a previous post of yours are really lacking in content and asking the reader to do a lot of the initial legwork for you with very little to go on. That's not really best way to go about doing things. Particularly here. We don't mind helping out newer players but try to meet us half way. Read through these boards to get a better idea of what's already out there and what it is you'd like to do/say. Then post something with a little more content and direction.

I hope this helps.

play Meandeck Tendrils:  the Primer can be found here http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/12009.html

it's going to be the cheapest deck you can build, but you'll have to be able to do math quick and be able to dodge Force of Will and Duress...you said cheap, not easy.

Haunted.

note:  I once played this deck for 12 hours of testing with a friend and ended up with a severe headache.

I played that deck for a little while. It is a good deck, but can be changed a little since it is slightly outdated. The eggs and spheres are great for rolling the deck along. It is not an easy deck to play but it can be extremely effective if you practice a lot.

Warning!: This deck causes opponent to become very apathetic. You may experience sulking, eyes rolling, and pfffts!

When I suggest it, it's on the assumption that you are in a proxied environment also due to the full acceleration.

Yes, head the warning, it's the kind of deck that falls under the Flash umbrella of "uh that deck is soo cheap" type of comments due to completely ignoring your opponent short of Duress effects and Force of Wills.
