Couldn't it be pretty competitive with the Invasion sac lands and stuff? Here's a rough sketch of what I'm going for...

Artifact:11
3 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Lotus Bloom
4 Chrome Mox

Red:21
2 Rorix Bladewing
4 Bogardan Hellkite
3 Dragonstorm
4 Burning Wish
4 Seething Song
4 Rite of Flame

Black:8
4 Cabal Ritual
4 Thoughtselze

Land:20
12 Red/Black producing Invasion Sac Lands
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Blood Crypt

Sideboard
1 Dragonstorm
4 Damnation
4 Duress
4 Extirpate
2 ???

The idea is to get enough storm to Hellkite them out by turn 4 or earlier with a sick draw. It worked in Standard and isn't much differrent from TPS, so why not Dragonstorm in Extended?

Kokusho is certainly better than Rorix, and debatable with Hellkite. If you Dragonstorm for two Kokusho you have a 20 point life swing. You can also cast him off rituals, but that's the same with all the dragons.

You probably want four Tops and you should be thinking about a way to deal with Counterbalance. Adding a little green to your mana base will allow you to splash some enchantment removal in your wishboard. Which is why things like 4 Damnation are shit. You only need one, and you need more things to Burning Wish for. Damnation is still questionable, even as a one of to wish for. Certainly test it though.

Are you a combo deck with answers or a combo deck trying to play control?

I've thought about Dragonstorm too, but I just can't find a reason to play it over Ideal. Yeah, ideal has a little SB hate to deal with, but it Dragonstorm has a much tougher time with Stifle and CounterTop.

Both decks run basically the same engine with (3 combo card, 4 Bwish, 3-4 Tops), so why play with a win condition that costs 9 instead of 7. 9 is a lot of mana....plus you've got to worry about that whole storm mechanic.

I've surprisingly found Ideal's backup plan of just casting big powerful enchantments decent since enchantments are so hard to deal with.

That sounds remarkably like Replenish in Saga/Masques type 2, and it worked pretty well then, too.

Dragonstorm can hardcast Hellkite and Rorix, also Dragonstorm wins immediately where Ideal needs a couple of turns. I'm not saying Dragonstorm is better than Ideal but it is at
least worth testing as a rogue deck as it can pull off some pretty busted plays.

You could basically rename this deck Trix if you add kokusho replacing Hellkite...

Artifact:8
4 Lotus Bloom
4 Chrome Mox

Black:8
4 Kokusho
4 Thoughtsieze

Blue:12
4 Pact of Negation
4 Ponder
4 Sleight of Hand

Red:12
4 Dragonstorm
4 Seething Song
4 Rite of Flame

Land:20
4 Steam Vents
4 Polluted Delta
2 Watery Grave
2 Blood Crypt
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 B/R Storage Lands

So it seems like a viable deck as long as you can hardcast Kokusho and Protect him if you get a bad draw...

Not that I think this deck is remotely playable, but I would recommend a single Bogardan Hellkite or Bladewing the Risen or even Rorix so that, if you draw a Kokusho, you can still combo out (and so that you can kill someone with more than 20 life).

How is Kokusho better than Bogardan Hellkite? I mean if you don't storm for 4, the only thing you do is some damage, whereas with Hellkite you get 2 or 3 5/5 fliers that are going to eat you alive next turn. The question is, is Kokusho easier to hardcast? It is off color, but costs less mana.

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of Dragonstorm in extended as well. I think Tendrills combo decks are best, but Ideal is awesome as well.
