Hey everyone!
The Meandeck Open returns!
Prizes: Depends on the turnout, but we generally give $120 to first, $60 to second, and $20 to third with an upward distribution over 15 players. Prizes are usually greater but scale upward depending on turnout.
Entry is $15
Vintage tournament.
UNLIMITED PROXY
Where: The Soldiery
4256 N. High St.
Columbus, Ohio 43214
When: Sunday, July 27, 2008
Store opens at noon. Registration starts at 12:30. Tournament begins at 1pm sharp. PLEASE try to be on time. We want to actually start these at 1pm. Tournament usually wraps up around 8pm.
This is great competition and there will be amazing T4 action going on if you scrub. You can't beat the price and the unlimited proxies!
Hope you can make it!

A shame the RIW tourney is on the same day. Oh well, power > $$.

Sweet - one final warmup before the whacked-out meta that will be the Champs in Chicago.

I'm actually becoming more serious about this tourney every day. I really would need a deck though. I'm firmly cemented in Pokerland now, thanks in large part to moving my MTG collection. Grim Long does sound fun, but really any deck would do. Would any of you fine folks be able to oblige with a pile of cardboard rectangles that do magical things? I gotta see you guys, it's been awhile. Oh, and you know a sandwich is getting pwned for sure. I'd order a salad if I were you....... Peace, Dave

Apparently, there is - although I didn't notice it until after scheduling this. What do you all want to do?

There were some people in Milwaukee that expressed interest in attending RIW. I do not know how serious they were, but there was some talk. I was also planning on announcing the HeroZone tourney on the 26th.

I'm planning to go to Meandeck Open instead of RIW because this tourney has unlimited proxies while RIW is strict 10 proxy (I sold all my cards). I have two other people coming with me as well, who will also need to make use of the unlimited proxies.
Perhaps the proxies will make an impact on other players as well.

It sounds like the two tournaments will draw different crowds. I'm keeping this tournament on the Calendar! See you there!

Thanks for the 16 players who showed up! It was a very competitive field!
Congrats to David Earley, Davie Spiehler, Jerry Yang, and Owen Wee for making top 4 with Pitch Long, UW Fish, PitchLong, and Goblins! They split the prize money amongst themselves!

Well done Jerry Yang. Also, Owen Wee? I didn't realize that guy plays Vintage, that's pretty cool.

Yeah, Jerry has been on fire lately. The tournament was a blast as always. Hopefully, I make top 4 at one of the tournaments again, but it is always a tough field...
I do believe that it is Olwen Li? Lee? But yeah, that guy is pretty good. He was playing B/R Goblins too, you would have been proud Jimmy!
Hopefully we'll see some of you guys at the Warzone on August 10th, or I will try and be at the next Meandeck Open, whenever that is.
*Edit* I was just informed, the gentleman's name is Olwen Wee
