a quick question for everybody on a ruling that i got this weekend at a PTQ.

Game 3 ended in a draw.  we were both at 2 and i played a cloudthresher to kill us both.  We proceeded to ask a judge what to do, and he said to play game 4 as it was a top 8 match.  Had it not been top 8, or even if it had, what is the correct ruling here?

Second question:

If a grindstone forces a draw because there are two dscs in a deck or something, how do you proceed?  does the game go to time and the match is a draw, or is it considered an auto draw and you go to the next game?

1st question: In a best of three series, you keep playing until someone has won two games, or until time is called. It does not matter whether it is Top 8 or Round One. If it does go to time, whoever has the most wins win the round. If you are both tied on wins (whether it's zero or one) the game is still a draw. I've gone to game 5's before playing Dragon.

2nd question: If the game produces an infinite loop that cannot be stopped, the game ends and go to the next one This includes the Grindstone/DSC situation.

I'm sure I didn't quite explain it correctly using the terminology of the Comp Rules/Floor Guidelines, but I'm fairly confident that the answers are correct.
